So what mp3 player/ipod/PMP do you use?

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Ok, having a big problem with these tags, and I was hoping one of you would know. I used MP3Tag to change everything with my files, and the tags show up correctly in MP3Tag and Windows Explorer, but when I play them in Winamp or Windows Media Player, it still has the old Artist name, and when I transfer them to my iPod they're incorrect as well. The weird thing is if I look at the file info in either one of those two, all of the tags are what they should be. I have no idea where it's getting the old information from, as neither program has internet access.

The volume control in QuickTime and iTunes is a software volume control; it doesn't adjust your mixer settings. So, 100% actually means 100% of whatever your Wave channel is on your mixer. Anything less means to actually soften the sound more.

Angel_Mapper: I'm thinking your files might perhaps have both id3v1 and id3v2 tags, and what I might guess is happening is, maybe MP3Tag is only updating one of the two versions of tags (probably the id3v1; they are stored differently in the file), and Winamp/WMP/iTunes are favoring the one that MP3Tag isn't updating (probably the id3v2). You can check using Winamp to see the contents of both tags, and remove the tag that's wrong.

I have a 2nd gen iPod Touch, and also a 2nd gen iPod Shuffle for those times when I don't want to use the iTouch (such as riding my bike). Apart from playing music, the iTouch is awesome for another reason: portable Peggle. :D

In addition to Handbrake, another good video conversion software is XviD4PSP. Don't be fooled by the name, it's not just for PSP files and I use it a lot to convert video for my iTouch (mainly anime).

Indeed, check the settings in mp3tag because by default it probably does not update all tag-versions.
