Agreed, I hope ut2k7 doesnt go down the path of star wars and halo 2 with silly looking pink lasers that make the "pchewpchew" sound. The linkgun is fine, the shock rifle shown here is fine (btw it's not purple, its indigo), the LG is fine. no purple gunshal said:

I really like how it looks in 3rd person. It looks like it'll be really recognable with that bright blue/purple beam of a barrel.
I almost need to see it working to know if I like it (the artwork does not reveal anything at all about the rate of fire and the power of the shock)

I agree with Majik- on the barrel, it looks like there is a flower sprouting out of the end . Other than that the model looks great. It's the best one yet for the Unreal series, and the combo effect just rocks.

much better art than the old ones but they must make more on the shockcore explosion huger explosion sound and distoring effect.
Can't fault it, looks amazing ingame. (although...from that pic I can't help thinking it looks a bit like some wierd pneumatic sex toy
