I have 69 hours in this game and yesterday was my first visit to Skellige. I also just noticed the tag for this thread. lmao.

Wow, that looks fantastic! I still need to play that first one.

TBH most people know at least a small bit about the TR series enough to just jump right into the second game without losing much. So far I haven't run into more than three references from the first game and even those were all in one cinematic.

The entire game plays much better than the first, the controls and even the camera movement is way better this time. The only issue I have (and it's my fault not TR) is that my FPS are really low and it's the first game I've played that brings my average fps way below 60 by making my 970 weep. But I have everything set to the highest possible settings except for AA, blur is off and so is DOF.

Though I've never played a game that looks so damn good, so I don't mind the choppiness for now. I'm enjoying the hell out of Rise.

This is the best game I've played in many, many years. I thought the first few hours had some amazing visuals, holy shit it's got nothing on what just played.

They did a good job of making her look like a person in the first reboot game, but they outdid themselves in Rise. The funny thing is that a lot of TR fans are furious that all the outfits she has are things are things she'd actually wear or find available in the environments she's thrown into which is mostly snow yet they still want her in the skimpy shorts because that's how the old games looked. Sure they'd look good but she's in the fraking snow 90% of the time, it makes no sense.

Besides, there's nothing like Lara with a Ushanka.
