I said the Navy no longer has direct operational control of it's SPECWAR boys. Navy has the pipeline, the gear, and most of the support infrastracture (for example, non-qual ETs, HMs, GMs, and ITs all can serve in SEAL teams). But Fort McDill puts the ops together. Better joint operations capability.
This may just be the Navy in regards to TAD, but when I was TAD for security, ASF owned me. Above them was NSF. And past them were the scrambled eggs. There was no input from my (sh*t forgot the term here) permament command, N771. My chain of command had completely changed. I was part of N771 in regards to berthing and pay purposes only. Not gone, but they really had no say in what duties I was assigned. If they had any, I would have been swabbing a lot of p-ways and scrubbing a lot of buttscuttles
.
When did the Corps start putting fighters into SOCOM? I know they had a few intel and admin types there, but never heard of any Corps trigger-pullers.
