Sad new blow to INF

Tuesday evening, I was playing on FOOL server. This made me so sad... I was moving with a partner (I won't mention names) and that person was covering an area. I took this opportunity to claymore one of our side exits (being covered and all, I siezed the moment). Well, I died while setting up the claymore and asked where my cover went (I ghosted only to find the person running away from my position), and got a very rude reply that I wasn't very smart. So I told the person not to talk **** when they were the one that failed as a teammate.

The response: Something along the lines of "omg" "dumbass" "go play CounterStrike".

Oh... my... western... mono-thiestic... religious... figure... bat man.

It made me want to quit INF right there. When the game has gone that much to hell that I get told off when trying to keep it team-based.

On the splash page for the menu, it even says right there:
INFILTRATION is a SQUAD-based, mission intensive military oriented game.

Naturally, I'm not quitting because I know what I'm doing is right. And what that idiot was doing is wrong. COUNTERSTRIKE is where people run solo and don't give a **** about their teammates. Not INF.

Please, people who still take this game seriously... please please PLEASE remember this while you play.

Please don't make a thread every time something like this happens. I thought something new had happened. Sadly, this pretty much a problem since 2.85.3 (maybe even earlier).

I believe you are expecting too much of public TDM...

Clays will kill teamates as likely as enemies and relying on somebody to cover you (who not specifically told you he will) is a matter of luck.

Some play it just for the ammount of kills and if you come of demanding like they 'owe' you cover ... no wonder you get unfriendly replies.

'Real' teamplay requires TS (or at least speechpad and somebody willing to listen) and a gamemode with an objective (EAS, DTAS, Spec)

Hmm, everybody tell me to use Team Speak, but I don't think my english is good enough for TS.
How all the other players use it? The frenchies, the dutchies, the brazilians, the italians, the hispanos, norwegians and all the other, are they so good in english?


Anyway, I hope INF:Source will have something like Oleetros... ermm Ολεθρος' 'report direction' with sounds. Also where you could combine and customize the commands and bind em on a key.

Well I´m always for a team up. Mostly I´m covereing dudes that even do not see me and just run around, but anyway I use tactigz then.

But I also like to be on my own. Lone wolf is mah second name.

Psych, in UMC we spoke english. Everybody except Midwinter-poo. He never joined TS. Most of us actually were really good in English, to my surprise. At the very least, everybody was easy to understand.

By the way kitty, if you want somebody to cover you then play with psych. Seriously, the guy sticks to your ass so close that sometimes you can't move because his weapon is stuck in you.

That's exaltly the reason oldtimers don't play TDM.

EDIT: join the DTAS night, if we can get enough players it'll be very nice (teamplay and friendly reply).

DTAS with midwinter and rostam on Vietnam(night) was teh coolest. Hunting snipers from the rock. The map Vietnam is the best.

But hey, a bit Archives CQB TDM is awesome.

Well, even it EAS and DTAS "Team" play may not happen. It's not the game type you play but the players that you play with.

Perhaps rather than having a DTAS/EAS Night/Day, perhaps we have a challenge. Say NA challenges Euros to EAS Game, then we Play the Euros on DTAS. Something like we has about a year ago where NA has a inter-mix Clan/Team game on EAS/TDM.

Here's a little bit of a hint. You can never trust anyone to cover your back, unless they're

1) In your clan,

2) In the same teamspeak server as you, and

3) Actively talking about the current match.

Even then, you have about a 70% chance of your cover fire/teamwork to actually work. Never trust anyone.

Bah. I'd hope all INF players were willing to play the game like it's meant and team up. I already know most of the people that do are the ones that have had some real life experience to some extent or another. Like most of GD, I've noticed, and some P^R. And I'll be watching for Psycho. And the only thing really "new" about this blow to INF is that I was told to go to COUNTERSTRIKE for teamplay! I've heard of it for spamming, strafing (??), attitude... but TEAMPLAY!? The hell is that!?

Fool Server = TDM! You're expecting the wrong thing from the wrong game mode. It's like playing ping pong with a golf club. Or using a spatula to change the channel of your TV. It can be done, but there are better ways to get what you want.
