I just do not get it. But there are some maps I simply can not play, starting those, I get this error message:
runtimeblanqxs.gif

At least 2 maps are not playable/startable:
DM-RAG-Harbor ( http://www.map-factory.org/ut-2004/deathmatch/dm-rag-harbor-2459 )
DM-GoatswoodPlay ( http://www.map-factory.org/ut-2004/deathmatch/goatswood-583 )

Does anybody know?

Jesus Christ. While I MEAN to remember Goatswood was not even openable in the editor, Harbor was... a static mesh package was missing. Looking in the zip archive: "StaticMesh" instead of "StaticMeshes" folder, but the error message is really without meaning.

Goatswood.. it was not DM-GoatswoodPlay, it was the single player version (mixed it up).

I am not sure in this case but something let met feel the author screwed up anything with his packages. The mapfactory version has only the DM map version with much smaller custom packages.

Problem is with your OS ( missing .dll or wrong version ), all two maps it's OK. Try update with Microsoft Visual C++.

I'd upload mine but BU, being it's awesome self, rejected it because of the lame file size limit.

I used to get this error primarily during Online play.

It was when I used to Overclock my Graphics card GPU/RAM and CPU a little too. If you are overclocking... perhaps turn settings down a bit.

Also what was mentioned before, remove C++ and then download &install latest verison.

:)

something to check before you freak out!

Just for the record, sometimes a 0 KB size map installs and you don't know it. If you get this error and UT2004 won't start at all, then clear out the Maps subdirectory of all these bad maps (0 KB in size) and it should fix it. This happened to me and I updated C++ with no fix, then found and deleted a map and UT2004 now works again.:)
