Problems

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

Well I tried everything - changed IE security - several refreshes - Windows update.

The only way I got it working is to disconnect my ADSL - log onto the internet using my Wireless Modem, then it came in ok.
I then disconnected my Wireless Modem and hooked up my ADSL Router again and now its fine - friggin wierd :(

This just in from a Joe Wilcox post off the ut2004mods listserv:

We have just removed UT2Vote from the official white list. If you are running a server that uses UT2Vote, your server will no longer appear in the server list if the "Standard Servers Only" checkbox is checked.

Please remember that for a mod to be white-listed, it must meet the following criteria.

1. Mods must not alter the core game play mechanics of UT2004.

2. Mods must be smaller in size.

A 900K download to a modem user takes approx 6 minutes to download.

Hopefully, the author of UT2Vote will adjust his mod to fit the criteria above and at that point it will be reconsidered for the white list.

Additionally, we've had a number of requests for other mods to be added (such as PowerCoreVolumeControl). If you submit a request to us, please include at least a link to the mod. It really helps to speed up the review process.

woot... every usable server uses a fast compressed redirect, so it won't be more than 200k...

if they think, that not every admin knows how to do that, what about small mutators, maybe 2k and downloading disabled? it will be standard and nowone, who hasn't got that mut may connect ?!?

wired guys...

I'd like to know how many percent of UT2004 players have that checkbox enabled. But I think only EPIC can find out by checking what inputs their master server gets.

Also, if I put a five megabyte texture file in the serverpackages for the server logo, and not redirect it, it will still be standard. Mutator size is the most stupid argument IMO. About the changes of the game play we could do something, like not disable world shaking by default. Hitsounds are off by default now anyway, which I don't like.

And if EPIC cannot be convinced, then we should think about technical measures. Can UT2Vote still be hidden from the mutator list sent to the master server? I once tried to hack the MasterServerUplink by changing some ServerActor I downloaded for this, but the second patch broke this and it never really worked well. Maybe ProAsm knows the tricks here.

damn............

Why do I have the feeling that Epic has something against UT2Vote???
The thing with the brightskins and the hitsounds I am maybe able to follow but the thing with the size is really ridiculous! If this is really the reason then they should remove the editor so that nobody could make custom maps.

And when I read the thread of Wormbo in the atari forum, I am really upset.
crap

Does he want to take somebody with him by his leaving? I know why I am allergic to him.
