People that think they own servers!

Ok I wont name names here, but I was just at GamesInferno (wich is the only servers I have "good" ping on) and wanted to start a nice game. Then these morons on the server were only playing with pistols and said that everyone else should do too.

They said that they were practising to make their aim better or something. If im not wrong we have practise mode for that kind off BS.

Ok so I didnt want to play with pistols and there aint any other servers to play on. So I just continiued playing with my M16 "without all the gizmos on it".

Guess what they do..., they f-word teamklill me just because I use the M16 and tell me to leave the server. I left the server soon after, like what the hell is going on when you cant play a fun game of INF without some dick trying to be GOD and make up rules on a server "that they dont even admin"?

Yeah, that sucks big time. I also like the ones who die 5 seconds into a match and then b!tch for the duration of the match that it is taking too long.

I played there too, a hour ago or so... it was kind of fun and going with that is just a sign of sportsmanship IMO.

Ofcourse my sportsmanship ends when people ask for things like knife fights... i gladly accept and then either bring a pistol or set myself upm with a scoped rifle

Thats all good and all, but would you say the same when your teammate comes up to you and kills you and tells you too piss off just because you didnt want to use the gun they wanted?

Hmmm...whenever the server I've been on does a pistol fight or plays with some monsters in it, everyone agreed to it. The problem has been people who show up after and start using automatics and bitching about how we are playing. The people who behave like that IMO deserve to be TKd. If you come into a server that is playing like that and have a problem with it, you are free to leave at anytime, instead of ruining everyone elses fun.

I'll take all the bashing for the pistols only server.

We had a nice game going, everyone agreed. Some poeple would come in and they wouldn't abide by our request, so we asked them to leave and then made them leave if they didn't. There were only a few people who caused a ruckus.

There are plenty of servers out there. There is no problem with someone finding a different server to play on if you wanted to use something other then pistols. I can't believe this would even be an issue. Oh well.

And on a different note. Someone should get a 1 on 1 pistols tourny set up or something. Someone who could lock down a server so we aren't bothered by the weak. I'd set it up, but i need a server to host it on, and i fall short there

It wouldnt be any problem if there were more servers to play on, but as it is now there is only 2 or 3 server that you can play on.

So what gives these "pistol only, and if you dont follow these rules your going to get TKed" morons the right to make up rules on a server that they dont own?

Im pretty sure that if there would only be alowed pistols on the GamesInferno servers, that then it would be written in their info page. But as it turns out it doesnt say that!

And BTW! there where more than me that didnt want to play with pistols only.

There are tons of servers to play on. I'm not even counting the sob servers. Sob servers all have stupid maps on em. MUF has a number of servers, there is the PHD server(not sure if they have mulitple) there is the oncall server or onecall, whatever the name, then there are tons more I don't even know the name of.

Everyone on that server agreed to play pistols only, we voted before every new map. SO, given we are the players, we decided to make the server what we wanted, and we did. Of course people aren't gunna agree to it, but more then enough people did, so we asked those who didn't to leave. And if they didn't we delt with them, simple as that.

I'm not gunna argue with you on this, we had loads of fun, and we will do it again if we want. You can either join in on the fun or play on a diff server. If you decided you gunna be a punk and try to spoil our fun you WILL be tk'd. Round after round after round. Or someone will just embarass you and kill you with a pistol anyways which was the case as well.

It isn't like we were just a few guys and tking everyone for kicks. We were by far the majority. And we did like a majority does, we did what we wanted.

You would be amazed how much funner inf can be if you use a pistol.

Team killing for any reason is lame, but about these pistol only rounds;

If you join a server that had agreed prior to go pistols only, I think it's inconsiderate not to adopt the same restrictions. If people then make you a target for noncompliance, too damn bad; they were there first, and they outnumber you. Even if the vote takes place with you there, if you find yourself on the losing end and decide to ignore the vote; fine, that's your choice. And it's their choice whether or not to make a target or mockery of you from there on out. If you don't like the crowd you are playing with, try another server.

There are a bunch of servers in the list, and usually several have good sized populations on them. Try your luck elsewhere.

Try looking at it this way; a group of people (none admin on the server) agree on some rules to abide by. Then some other fellow comes in, and decides to ignore these rules? If he/she isn't the admin, who the hell are they to rain on the group's parade?

If you had to pick a server with 100 ping or 500 ping wich server would you pick?

I sure as hell aint going to play on a high pinged server just becasue some lamer dont want to play the game as it should be played.

If I want to play on a lowpinged server then Ill play on that server! And if you want to play with pistols only?, then get your own server.

Just because something is "fun" dont make it right?

Ok buddy, here is the deal...

On a server with 16 people, a max of prob 3-4 people didn't like what we were doing. We delt with them. Only 3-4 people put up a fuss about it. You came into our game and caused problems. We didn't barge into yours.

The game is what the players make of it. There is no "how it is supposed to be" scenario. The game was made, and the players play it how they want. You make it sound as if we just tk'd anyone for fun. We alerted people to the game we were playing, kindly asked them to either play along or leave, if they didn't within a few rounds, we delt with them.

End of story.

The United States is such a nice country. You know why? It is because we have this wonderful concept called "majority rules." If, for example the people vote on a law that you don't agree with, and said law passes, you may be the minority but that still does not give you the right to break that law.

I live on the far side of nowhere and I can almost always find 7-10 populated servers with low ping. I'm sure if you looked in the browser and not your favorites you could probably come up with a few low ping servers.

If TKing people is fun in you peoples eyes then im gonna look for another game.

What it looks like to me is that the majority was enforcing the law they passed. I'm sure if you leave not too many people will mourn your departure.

Do you think they put all those weapons in there for you to stare and gaze at? It was made for you to use them. I don't care who was there first. It is exactly the opposite of what you're saying. If YOU don't like to play, YOU leave. TheSniper can stay because he is playing correctly. If you're going to change the rules, start your own damn game or play against some bots for God's sake.

I'm replaying to this guy because of shear laughter.. I'm sorry BUT anyone who believes they play a game "correct" where others do not is a damn fool. I don't mean to be mean but you are an idiot UTProhpet.

The thought of someone even thinking they play a game "right" at all is amusing. There is no right or wrong way to play any game, unless there are rules. Did i get a rule book with inf? I don't think i did, and if i was supposed to, someone fax me over a copy!

I love the bot suggestion... Hey! Actually it would make more sense for the poeple "playing the game right" to play with bots because if the bots don't "play the game right" then i dunno who does.. Just leave the people having fun alone.

After all, it is YOU complaining about US. If you don't like how we are playing, leave. If i am on a server and i dont' like how they are playing, guess what, i leave. There are plenty of servers. You don't see me coming up here and crying when i find a server that is lame.

oh and sniper guy, just because something is fun does make it right when you are playing a game. And if you disagree with that then you are not playing inf to have fun. And if you are not playing inf to have fun, you are playing for all the wrong reasons. If this is a decent topic that is being discussed, how come you want us to shut up? Who is to say who is "playing correctly?" If the server admin is hanging around it is them, but since that is not always possible the majority tends to rule when the admin is not around. It takes a majority to end a round, change a map, etc. Servers normally have one rule, play fair. If the majority agrees to play with pistols and someone comes in and takes advantage of that and starts running around with an M16, that is not playing fair.

So if he comes into a server with 15 other people that are playing pistols only, he can swagger up, full of himself, tell everyone to get the (insert obscene remark here) out of the server since HE doesn't want to play with pistols, and therefore all other 15 people on that server would have to leave because HE doesn't think he should have to obey the rules that everyone has agreed to.

If Sniper was too dense to realise that he wasn't wanted if he kept playing with an M16, then he had the TK coming. It obviously got him to leave didn't it?

If you were in fact going to play the game "to have fun", you would let people play with their own set loadouts. IRL, you don't ask the other side what weapon to use and if they don't use it, they can leave the war, do you? I sure hope not.

If you want to play with your ****in pistol, let him blow you away with his M16. Your fault for being so STUPID. And if you can't kill someone with M16 with your DE, that makes you even more lame because it shows how much you suck at the game.

By the way, what I meant by the "correct way" was a way that everyone can play and be happy. Thus playing "correctly" with bots in your case would be giving them loadouts with pistols only. But you were too much of an "idiot" to pick that up obviously. It's not hard. Try context clues such as "You guys have to learn to play nice."

It's people like you that make it no fun to play online. And stop saying find another server. Why don't you and your friends start a private one?

You don't know the first thing about realism do you? If you are in war you have to be worried about being whacked by your own side. People are shot in the back if they are not liked by others, targeting errors are made and friendlies die.

But now back to the original subject and realism be damned for the moment. I have played on multiple public servers where we decide to play pistols only and no one has had a problem with it. When people join the game we inform them that it's pistols only. We haven't had a problem with people being assholes about it, they play with pistols or they just leave to find another server. They just say say "ok, i don't want to play that, later all," that is it, no whining, complaining, laming, etc.

Prophet, your view that anyone can play how they want on a server is rather ignorant and rather vague. All I get out of your posts are that I can play however I want and to hell with everyone else. Say for example, that I play with an aimbot and kill my team every round, and no one else does. I'm playing how I want to play, having fun doing it, and using everything i have at my disposale, so it's all right by you, agreements and rules be damned.

Sniper, its not like anyone held a gun to your head and said "stay in this server and play or we splatter your brains on the nearest wall." You were just in there having your "fun" by ruining everyone elses and that isn't right.
