I would say not having avrils at all the nodes is pretty bad. I kept spawning at nodes that had no avrils, thus I was getting owned by enemy Raptors.
As Dird would say...

"Use da beam, n00b!"

A shock rifle is much better at taking down a raptor than an avril is in my experience. Sure, the avril has that neat lock-on and does quite a bit of damage on contact, but it's very unreliable and puts you at risk since you can't see or pay attention to anything going on around you.

Played it. My only real complaint is the lack of music.
My workaround was to bring up the MP3 player and use CPB2-TheRayTracer_Solstice, but I don't think you can apply it so it uses that music on that paticular map and use the defaults on the rest. Still I liked the map. biggest OMG moment: finishing the construction on a node that directly links to the enemy power core, only to have it announced that my core was also vulnerable .

True, on this map the pace is quite fast and its built for a lot of players so shock is best as it doesnt leave u so vunerable, ive played this map on Titans and it is all its cracked up to be....great map imo and well worth a download

Course in the NV (no vehicles  ) version u wont be needing those avrils, actually thats also a great map

Great map, the kind of direction that I guess a lot of us were expecting from UT2007.

Hunter is building a pretty impressive portfolio of maps, and it's absolutely brilliant that someone has had the imagination and ability to take ONS in a slightly new direction. Innovation is what UT is about, and this map is the most innovative ONS map I've seen since...well...ever.

It's brilliant looking, I love the design of the base and the node stations...and then there is that awesome skybox..the only thing that outdoes it is the classy reflection of the skybox in the water. That truly had me muttering "nice" when I saw it.

Very playeable. In the past it's always been the rule that being able to attack one node while standing at another is a no-no, but this map pulls it off and actually makes it work in it's favour. The landscape is very well designed and the vehicle roll out is spot on. Some people would have been tempted to put a lev in a map of this size....but no, the map is way better without one.

I like the fact that the grid layout means teams can push down flanks or punch through the centre...it feels much more like a battlefield with a frontline.

If I had to pick one fault it would be with the lack of health pickups...I often found myself looking around for them but not being able to find one.

That's just a niggle though. This is yet another great ONS map from Hunter and I really hope Epic are watching and seeing how ONS can be spun in a slightly new direction for UT2007...infact, they could do a lot worse than get Hunter to do some of the retail maps.

Other than the music, the only thing I found bad was a BSP hole. And its fairly obscure at that.
I didn't find a BSP hole (thank goodness). Where is it, exactly?

Anyhoo, I played this map earlier today - good stuff! :D

My only gripe (besides the lack of music that other people have touched on) is that when the Nodes are building or under attack, the onscreen messages relating to those activities don't show up. Furthermore, when you touch and activate a node, the announcer doesn't say "Red/Blue Powernode under construction". Has anybody else here noticed this?

That's on purpose...think about how many of those messages you'll get if they were left in ;)

Hmmm...I guess if you were playing with 32 people online and everybody was "kung-fu fighting" ([singing]"those cats were fast as lightning..."[/singing] :D *DODGES INCOMING ROCKETS*) the Nodes, that would probably be the case. :)

It must be an improvement of the later versions, because in the earlier versions, the announcer went pretty wild...
"Red node under construc..."
"Red node under construction"
"Red node destr..."
"Red node isolated"
"Yet another red node under ..."
"Wait, skip that. It's now isolated"

...And so on.

@Starry: ehm...notice the ;) in T2A's post? It means something ;)

Well, I don't play with the announcer... I was trying to follow hal's post:

I actually have the announcer on minimal. I don't need to hear the announcer say a power node is going up because there's a little chime every time something of importance happens anyway. When I hear this I glance at the radar map to see what's going on. In CTF I don't necessarily watch the flag monitors since I know if they're in transit or not, but listening for the chime is my cue to change my actions according to the current flag situation.
