Anywhere But Here
Very nice pix you guys! I'm liking the IR stuff Phopojijo.

Here are a few I have taken lately. Not much going on with them, just too lazy to go anywhere to take interesting shots.

I've had a stab at some HDR... Sorry if they're a bit blurry.

Yeah...

I'm guessing Noise Ninja/some other noise reduction software cranked up WAY TOO HIGH (way beyond noise reduction)... but deliberately...

Makes a nice pastelly/painty tone.

Or at least it'll make exactly the same effect...

Sorry shadow_dragon, gave away your secret (or at least a secret to make identical results)

Thanks Jackal and TM. That was mostly shot through the "sunset" filter on my camera, and then a few tweaks were made in Lightroom.

shadow_dragon, where do you live to get pictures of such nature shots?

That's because of the hormones. You'll get used it ... eventually.

Heh heh! No secrets, I did it properly, hence the blur, basically 3 photos(raw) of different exposures. My camera only does a 3 stop bracket automatically and my tripod was hit by wind and surf. Polarizer lets you see through the water in the foreground though. I've not played with the polarizer or hdr before so it's quite exciting.

I've seen lots of tuts to "fake" hdr with a single image but I figure I'd rather learn the technique before learning the shortcuts.

@ crotale - I live in Bournemouth but I just move around, those last shots were from a place called kimmeridge though. A cliff made of slate, everday new fossils are uncovered due to erosion. Tons of photo oppurtunities too. You never really to far from nature in the uk though.

I was recently invited to join a photography group here in Tokyo called Ringo Camera. Since I joined I get to use their studio space and all their sexy lighting equipment. I have never shot in a studio before, so some friends and I went there and just took turns with our cameras shooting each other. Pretty fun stuff and I figured everything out after a few shots. Good educational experience.:)
