few shots I took this past weekend @ this crazy balloon/rave in Forest Park. it was the night before the actual balloon race so everybody was just getting hammered, walkin around drinking and watching those guys burn off about 20 grand worth of gasoline. it was hot and loud and intense. there was live music too, good times were had by all.

if the above gives you flashbacks of nights you spent on the toilet after having Mexican food, I cannot be held responsible.

Not bad. You should of brought a tripod and got some shots of them from a far. They look so cool when lit up at night.

Pigeon that was in the tree outside our house, close enough to get a nice load of detail with my 70-200 - only had to crop about 50% of the image off, up until now I've not been able to get close enough to birds to even get close to filling the viewfinder with them.

I'm no photographer, but I took this nice pic with my phone today.

Since I got back to nyc for the summer I've been biking up from canal to ~200th on the west side bike path. Good fun.

Damn, and some people used to say I ride a pink bike. That looks more like it.
I hope that's no paint, or whatever it is on the wheel, it doesn't look braking-efficient.

Well, that was my sisters bike when she was like 9, and it was purple-ish pink,
then i spray-painted it gold when i was around 14 or 15
I was home and just saw it today, and taught it looked cool, so i took a picture :p

But yeah brakes don't work anyway

Unless I focus on the leaves in the foreground this kind of hurts my eyes because I keep trying to focus on what's in the background, but I can't! And the background is where my attention keeps getting drawn to. What is that? A train? Still a cool shot none the less.

There is something wrong with your brain. My eyes always want to look at the leaves. The building is Gokoku-ji Temple It's where Emperor Meiji is buried. The Emperor from the movie The Last Samurai. He is famous for westernizing Japan.

I'm with Twisted, naturally my brain goes to look at the background as thats conventionally where shots like this (ie some foreground just in the shot for a bit of balance to what the main focus is)
Interesting though.

I guess it does that for some people. Thanks for the feedback.:)

Thanks, I quite like the way that with slightly old flowers the edges of the petal begin to curl more - it makes them look more authentic in a way.

Also, I'm quite pleased with the result seeing as the setup consisted of a piece of wood board as the backdrop and just the light from my window and a small desk lamp for the lighting.
