OK, I know the purpose of this thread/news post and I realize that an official UT2005 separate game will not be shipped in 2005, but what about a possible UT2005 download for everyone that purchased UT2004? Is this still a possibility or is that axed as well?

By "great packs" I do *not* mean any CBP...

I know we can expect numerous great community content/map packs springing up in the future, and I'd be very suprised if there wasn't at least one or two Epic/DE ones (either created by them or at least supported) by the time the next UT is unleashed.

People has acted as if Epic has made it a tradition to release a new UT instalment every year since UT2k4 came out.

UT2k3 was, sadly enough, basically a flop and UT2k4, which was originally planned as an upgrade pack, was released to get the franchise on the right track again. Furthermore their whole MSU contest would've been somewhat pointless if they were to jump to the new engine already, since lots of the mods out there have barely begun and the few truly established mods available have taken atleast a year to get to the stage where they are today.

But I would suspect that they will release a bonus pack :)

I hope that UC isn`t the last Unreal title game

I doubt that Cuddles... A lot of us have no interest in Xbox and will never see the console game so new PC titles (whenever) are a must...

UT has too big a fan base for Epic not to keep developing new Unreal titles... Ever tried Unreal II - It rocks! Me, I want Unreal 3, UT2k6/7 and any other PC titles Epic wants to throw at me... I'll pay handsomely

I asked Play.com about this.

Answer:

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your email.

Whilst we do endeavour to dispatch pre-orders so that they are received on the date of release, unfortunately we cannot avoid occasional delays passed on from our suppliers.

However, it is also very possible that we will receive stock early, in which case orders may be received by you ahead of the scheduled date of release.

You will not be charged for this item until the time of shipping. You still have the option to cancel the order by logging into your account and pressing the cancel button next to the item in your outstanding orders.

We hope that this information answers your query, please do not hesitate to contact us again if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,

old news for me!

It was a couple of months back [I think] that I remember someone saying about no UT2005 or whatever - because there wasn't much else to improve on.
