Let me know what Sunday is the first new 2004 Sunday lockdown and I will write a news post.
As soon as Mych finds the time to modify our "Lockdown Counter" and make it point to our JB2k4 Mothership on Sundays and to our JB3 Mothership on Wednesdays we can start the engines imo. Or is this something you (tarquin) are able to take care of aswell?

I probably could, but I don't have an FTP client here :(
I think we have to put it off for a week.

Fair enough. Here's a 300x224 version of it, which doesnt look very stretched actually.

If you want to use that screenshot (or any variation of it), its probably best that you thumbnail it to the larger version... The characters arent very clear in the mini version.

oops... 200x225 :(
PJB news shots down support thumbnails. That's POTW.
Perhaps put less text on it -- just 'JB2004 Mothership lands on Sundays' ?

No one's playing JB2004? My clan is focussed on that (okok, iJB, but still JB :D)! We're still in the early days of the clan, but when we got some money (which will be very soon), we're gonna set up some kick-a$$ no-lag servers! Remember Unrealized Potential, we'll stick around for a loooong while :D:D:D

As Nova said, our clan (Unrealized-Potential) is focussed mainly on iJB (also iTDM) and we are looking for clan matchs now.
On the subect of maps, I am currently working on a DM map, but once that is finished I can finish JB-Tomb as a final version and maybe start work on more maps. I haven't really played on the mothership so I don't know about custom maps on it but the only server I have seen playing custom maps is the kokrull server that has been down for quite a while

Well, quite clearly, the screenshot I took isn't going to work at 200x225 (although I assume you mean 225x200, since pictures are landscape-orientated rather than portrait-orientated).

I'll set up another scene to take a screenshot from then or try to be really clever and take one in-game.

I'm finding it incredibly difficult to make anything decent given the size constraints

Going off at a tangent because of this... can the PJB site be improved to support larger images? Sexmachine has posted pics 400 pixels wide.

And incidentally, the pic I've made is just about suitable when 400 pixels wide. To maintain scale, it becomes 320pixels high. Is that ok?

Well, yet again that pic isnt suitable for 300x225. If you're finding it a little hard to read the IP immediately, you'll never get it in this one.

Why cant we increase the PJB pic size to a more suitable size for todays's computers?

Well do you REALLY need the pic to have the ip adress? Cant you have the ip on the page or maybie a link direct to the action (the UT2004//6546.53.26.546 thingy)

People arnt really the type of people who take the time to write down an ip adress then type it in EVERY time they want to play...

I've got my windowed mode on Opera set up to do a 800*600 resolution window for web development. A quick switch to it shows that with the relatively large sidebars the main site is already pushing the boundaries of viewability with the current pic size. W3C estimates about 1/3 of internet users are still using 800*600 screen resolution, so it's probably not a good idea to increase the pic size.

From the W3C's website:

800x600: this accounts for ~33% of page accesses. Some users surely have old PCs, with little video memory; the rest likely have PCs whose resolutions are set lower because many new PCs default to a lower resolution: lower resolution displays are faster. The percentage will decrease steadily as higher resolution displays grow more common, but will remain popular for many years.

To be fair as a gaming site PJB's readers probably have higher-tech computers than the global internet, and therefore higher screen resolutions. In general though you still need to support 800*600 screen resolutions when doing web development.
