Hmm, I to miss specialist and I am happy it is being talked about. However, rather than create a new game type mutator how about we start with "I Am/I Am Not Worthy" option mutator to get the party started. Then go from there....

What is everyone's problem with Capture-the-CD maps? It's fine with me...

And Geo, is RealTargets still being worked on, or is it shelved for now?

Isn't that called Specialist? I'm sure the guy who did the "I'm not worthy" stuff for DTAS could easily add his code to a renewed Specialist gamemode. Then you could play Specialist, but with only the people capable of being spec having the opportunity. He could even throw in an option to give the Spec their normal loadout.

It's not that easy. In DTAS, you can opt in or out of being the flag placer/fox, and it will fall into place the next round. However, Specialist doesn't have rounds, and making the server remember stuff between maps isn't fun (bar using an ini, which could be messy).

I'm sure it's possible, but I don't have the time to put into it. Trawling through other people's code, however clear it is, must be the worst thing for a programmer bar debugging.

Would it be possible to disable sniperactors for a set period of time when each wave comes? i.e.

1)Player dies
2)sniperactors disabled
3)new wave comes
4)X amount of time later, sniperactors re-enable.

Or would maps that take a while to get out of sniperactor reach screw ip this idea?

EDIT:
Hey crowze, i dunno if it is possible, but can the breeching charges be 'modified' to use the dukenades shrapnel? (Included in a further version of IWE?)

"I am not worty" bind is a terrible idea. Then the newb who has no idea the bind exists becomes the Spec, he wonders where his weapons went, he gives up and leaves -- the ****ing round resets.

It should be the opposite. "Iamthechosenone" should be the bind. Spec chooses the last player to type that in. It would help if there was a 15 second waiting period at the start to let ppl type it in before the spec was chosen along with a message to the attackers saying "INF_whathisface will be spec."

So what if they have to type it in (or press the key bind) once per map? Of course, if you figure out how to make it keep the spec selected then more power to you (maybe that team stay mutie can help? I dunno I am not a coder...)

Yes - in fact I've just uploaded what I'm hoping to be the next release to the beta team for testing.

So how is it coming?

How long does it take to Betatest? DO you test if with compatability with other mutators and such?

I'd be happy to betatest it offline :D
(no net connection on my INF computer, so Offline is all I have. I want broadband + unlimited...)
