Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.
This just pisses me off. It's not appropriate even if you're supposedly "just joking around", particularly after Epic just gave you $2500 freaking dollars and a dang nice wide screen monitor for something you made with tools they practically gave you for free.It's all in the gameplay.
It's also the real reason Epic folded on the UT series.
When the average guy beats out the industry pros, it's time to pack it in.
I didn't think Foundry was a winning map, but I wasn't a judge. I think it's a testament to the fact that new/inexperienced/patient mappers can actually steal the prize, but it makes it pretty bitter when those people then turn around and rip Epic for "folding on the UT series", supposedly because they themselves couldn't make maps with good gameplay.
ARRGGG... My rage could continue but.... ugh....

I think its great when independent mappers can beat industry pros, but only when they deserve it, which many of the mappers in the contest did, but not all Just my personal opinion.

You must have a pretty sad sense of humor if you think ripping on the company that just enabled you to win money and prizes is funny.
Maybe, but you haven't done yourself any favors in this thread. It's my opinion that your map wasn't as good as other entries, but that doesn't mean you don't deserve to have won.
And it's not about going over my head. I could say something totally racist and then two posts later say "Oh, by the way, if you didn't get it before I was totally joking in my last post! hahahaha!" and then tell anyone that got upset about what I said to lighten up and get a better sense of humor. That doesn't change the stupidity of what I had said before.
I guess in this case your reputation precedes you, though.
I support Briz in this, I mean you really should be glad you have got the money and all that, I wish I could do that, I have too slow machine for making UT3 maps I think and still, I can try when I learn all the stuff, but by then the contest will be closed probably and I simply don't have that much time etc. Not that I would do the maps for money though and that is what kinda puts me off from this contest, I mean sometimes I really feel it is unfair, some of the entries in this contest which won.

Meh, the contest has created a ton of new content with i am eagerly playing (Angels Fall First: Planetstorm, Crucible Weapons/ characters, Skaarj, The Haunted). Honestly, just this content alone makes the content worth it.
Oh and btw, on Brizz's comment on Foundry being a winning map, I'd say I'm in the ballpark too on that one, doesn't seem that great of a map, tbh i lol'd when i saw it had been put into the contest (i even beta'd the sucker, hated its gameplay). Meh, as brizz pointed out, we arent the judgesS), enjoy your new monitor & $2500 and stop complaining if you are.

If you really thought what I wrote was serious, then your problem isn't with me, your problem is your own inability to comprehend what you're reading.
I knew that my winning would leave a bad taste in certain peoples mouths regardless of their opinion of my map. My comment was targeted towards them. It was not a crack at Epic, who I've always praised for holding the MSUC's.
So now that you've forced me to spell it out for you (which I really shouldn't have had to do) you can put your dunce cap on and go sulk in the corner.

when I read your posts, it sounds like your saying UT3 failed, and your saying this is due Epics inability. In your post you imply that you could do better. What upsets Sir_brizz and others is that your putting down Epics ability right after they give you a first place.
I don't care about the $$ myself, All I wanted was 1st place, and this phase was the phase that I actually made an effort, Hell I am disappointed I didn't achieve that dream, but I'm not going to undermine Epics ability, if I might disagree.
I suggest you adjust your post before others have to read it. Especially members of Epic, its very offensive and there's no point arguing about it.
As for me, I lost my chance and there are no more chances, I will start a "making of.." thread soon but my next map will be a while as its custom content, So I wish those still in the contest the best of luck and I hope that people will still be here to enjoy my maps as I make them
