I think I should slap myself. Dig_x -> made by mr. x
I just didn't realise that when I was playing the map, or afterwards. Don't know why. So, I just don't like the conversion. No matter who made it, I still would have disliked it.
That means I don't hold personal grudges against anyone ^_^
/slaps self.
Ok.
Just tried mh-chambers of hell.
Starts ouf fine. Nice little extra, those books. I immediatly knew what do when I saw them.
Pupae, krall fight. You descend into the dungeon. Lots of brutes, pupae, krall it's fun. A boss krall. No worries, there are plenty of ripper blades.
Dwarf pupae heh... and one big, fat daddy. Fun to frag.
Lighthing is good in this part of the level. Dark, yet there are enough flames in the walls. Or cracks in the floor, and lava beneath.
When you dive in the water, there are some slith to finish off and a "boss" version as well. Went nicely with normal weapons.
A Tip: Including searchlights isn't such a good idea. Especially if they never run out.
See, you alert the monsters with your searchlight. Waaay too early.
Forget sneaking up on them.
It would be better to add some small, faint lights so you have a clue where to go in the darkness. There's no real need for a searchlight, imho, unless you can disable it (single player, co-op).
After the slith part the fun stops.
Well, ok the gasbags bit was nice. No complaints.
But the lay-out of the small arena and the monster is inhibites, that's asking for trouble. Sure, there's plenty of ammo/weapons/health but once you get in there with 5+.. whew, it could most likely create a bloody mess.
You face teh dungeon lord. A warlord monster with LOTS of health. At least, for normal weapons.
It takes a long time to eliminate this bastiche. It probably would as well if you'd play with 2-3. Depends...
-> Proper use of a strong warlord -> Mh-demons.
Not here. Pity.
After mr. Warlord dies, a door opens with a teleporter.
You spawn in a large, boxy area. Almost fullbright, a small hut, some grass.. three strong titans. Eh, I don't know, just didn't feel right. The area to get ammo/weapons is too small.
-> Good use of titans in open area -> TGES3 (Well, the one which has mercenaries near the start).
After that, our you can forget fragging the titans (I guess it's optional) you descend into the bowels of the earth.
If you know where to go, you can quickly find the exit.
You don't need to frag the monsters left.
The final room has some "nasty" baddies, but you can easily evade their incoming projectiles.
It's not all bad in this map, that's for sure. It doesn't really stand out, though.
-> Map author did add some cameras -> which makes you view certain parts of the level. Nice addition. No shacky "duke" cam, though ;-)
