Wasn't this guy the guy who was responsible for the UT3/Midway disaster? Good riddance!

I have the Special Edition of UT3 (with the art booklet) and this the opening quote:

"As president, I have absolutely nothing to do with the art of Unreal Tournament 3, other than convincing megatalented guys to move to Raleigh, feeding them, and getting out of their way."

Other than the silly food-for-arts part, I'm not sure if he was the Creative Director, I think most of the decisions in UT3 were done by War Tourist and Capps.

Capps was from what I understand the green light of the studio. See it however you like, if you didn't like Capps, you didn't like Epic Games.

Capps was from what I understand the green light of the studio. See it however you like, if you didn't like Capps, you didn't like Epic Games.

As I see it, Capps's accomplishments were: (1) not getting in Cliff's way with Gears; (2) running the Unreal-* game franchises into the ground; (2.5) sticking WarTourist with the sack (just like any executive skilled enough to deflect the blame from himself would have done).

So as for me, I liked Epic just fine all along ... what I disliked was what Capps turned Epic Games into. How he snookered Epic into handing him the company would make for an interesting and instructive account.

Anyway, even though it's probably far too late to matter, I'm glad he's gone.
