Not at this time...

...but I sure wish there was one. Brings back the old days of pickin' off a few Russians, from with the silenced .22 in Delta Force.

Oh, nononononono, it would have to be "Noise, recoil and flash reduction system"... Maybe it would be better to just say "Suppressor". :D

"supressors" and rifles

Can you get 'supressors' for sniper rifles such as, hmmm... PSG1s? That would be sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool.
Then ya could **** em from 5 metres away, and they would have no idea who did it.

(okay, let me think. Oh yeah, sniper rifles are for long range arent they. My bad)

Yes, but if you use supersonic ammo it won't be nearly as quiet as a subsonic round, they will hear you- BUT, it'll be pretty close to impossible for them to pinpoint your location by the sound alone.

Or you could be a puts and use subsonic ammo in a rifle like a 5.56 or 7.62- that would make it more quiet, but the power, range, and accuracy would be less than a pistol/smg round. Rifle bullets are generally smaller than pistol bullets- rifle cartridges just have much more gunpowder (and consequently very fast bullet speed) to do damage, so reducing that speed so much kinda misses the point.

yup... correct me if im wrong, but subsonic ammo has less range, less accuracy, less punch, etc.

the akmsu has an internal silencer, or so says the armory. even it has pretty large blast. even though thats really more due to the incredibly short barrel length

Subsonic rounds have their place in some rifles. The .300 whisper is a 5.56mm Nato (.233 rem) necked up to .308 caliber to fire 140+ grain bullets (I think 160-180 grains is the most popular). The standard 5.56mm Nato load calls for a 69 grain fmj. Becuase the bullet is much heaver in the .300 whisper, the velocity is subsonic. This is great because you can get a short barreled m16/m4 type weapon and silence it quite efficiently. The 140+ grain bullet is heavier than most pistol bullets, and so it has more energy and penetration (in shorter ranges than the 5.56mm). Becuase the .300 whisper has a higher ballistic coefficient (shaped to fly & pentrate things better) than pistol cartriges, it can be loaded with bullets capable of penetrating body armor more easily than pistols can. Overall, you can end up with a submachine gun almost as small and light as the mp5, with the knock down power of a .45 auto, the penetration of a 5.56mm or better, somewhat longer effective range than smg/pistol loads, and more accuracy too!!

Except that supressed handguns tend to be quite loud unless you use a locked breech, which will require you to cycle the action by hand after each shot; otherwise you get a blast of hot gas out the ejection port when you fire it. Much quieter than without a supressor, but much louder than the traditional Hollywood silencer.

not all supressors use subsonic. some are designed to lower the velocity of the bullet to a subsonic speed. so guess what would happen with a subsonic bullet. i've heared this about the mp5sd. when you use subsonic ammo it drops the velocity so much that you can pretty well forget about it being useful, you might as well just through bullets.
