If you land after a fall or jump your weapon makes one big bob to represent the landing. This gives the guy waiting below in a steady position an advantage for a sec or even more. Enough time to kill the jumper.
If you fall from too high then you drop your weapon.

oh , and it makes perfect sense to jump down somewhere and still be able to aim then directly after stabilizing again. And this can be done pretty fast.
Sure the jumps from greater height should maybe increase the landing bob effect a bit more but its still ok the way it is right now.

so, sorry If I don't see a problem here...

I disagree, try it play it out 1v1 you will walk towards the stairs and a person will fall from above, you will be the one to die some 75% if not more precent of the time. This makes jumping down the stairs surprising the enemy and shooting look like a viable tactic, it is not. For exampla if you jump on to the lower part of the stairs from above them it is likely you will not land with proper footing (they are stairs after all). Or that when you fall down a distance greater then some 5 feet your gone may slip from your shoulder. I think this would work very well with psychomorphs idea (anyone who has not read that should), so if his idea was ever implemented you would fall down from aim mode into ready/fire mode.

First of all, a vection system as described is not merely sight misalignment. There are a finite possible number of rotations in UT for any given axis; All that needs to be done is make the weapon's rotations somewhat independant of the player's rotation. 'Misalignment' is the result of simple observation of these rotations. You aren't changing what is already there.

Well, I guess what I'm trying to get at here is that there might be some odd effects from the engine trying to represent such small changes in attitude.

The 5.7mm round already has a 6 inch spread at 50 meters. I'm not too impressed.

Where do these numbers come from. I'm curious.
