Not really, a £70+ Noctua can't beat a sub £30 Titan Fenrir.

Depends, if you have Intel and no RAM heat spreaders, then it's great! Of course, the Titan Fenrir wasn't out a year and a half ago when I built my present system.:) Also, if Thermalright ever changes their flimsy installation procedure, I might give them a chance with later systems. I do have a couple of their heat sinks on some older systems, but decided to not go that route early last year.

The Asetek and H50 are barely watercooling if you ask me. Custom watercooling with powerful pumps, high performance blocks and large radiators will destroy them. Good air coolers will beat the H50 and H70.

With that said, I doubt temps like that are that absurd while overclocked. If you were hovering around 4GHz, I'd say that's normal for that cooler. The H50 was a bad overclocker for high-end processors from the reviews I've seen. Simply doesn't have the surface area.

Okay so what are you guys suggestions for cooling systems. I like the Titan Fenrir but what else is there?

I have this on my i7-870 @3.4 GHz

Temps are very low with this inexpensive direct contact cooler. I run UT3 with 2 cores at 100% and a 3rd one partly loaded and temps are 47C max. Make sure to follow instructions so it has proper contact.

Your water cooler sounds like it is either not flowing properly, air in the lines, or the fan is not blowing. Check for pinched lines, good air flow, or low coolant level. If your liquid is older than a year you should change it. You may need to clean the fins on the heat exchanger if they are clogged.

TBH I would rather switch to air cooling.

Also where can I buy a second fan for that heatsync. I want to put 2 on it just for the hell of it.

Alright then I'm set. I'm going to order the heatsync with 2 extra 120mm 2500RPM fans.

I love newegg. I ordered my parts on Sunday night and they arrived today at around 1:00. I picked up some 91% alcohol from walmart and I replaced my heatsink with this MONSTER sized one ( it barely fits in my case <_> ). I also moved and reversed my fans to improve my new air flow.

And now for the important part:
- PC runs much quieter now that I have removed that stupid 120mm radiator. That thing made so much noise.
- Idle temp is between 38 and 43 degrees and the AS5 still have 200 hours of curing to do so it will probably go even lower.
- Full Load is still around 70c.
- Mid load (running sc2 or encoding videos is my mid load, around 30% to 40% CPU usage) temperatures are around 50c.

I am very happy with the results.

I'll post updated temps after the AS5 cures completely.

According to AS5's website the formula for the stuff requires time to cure so that it can conduct heat more efficiently. Something about them using silver particles blah blah blah.

Well I'm definitely happy with this.

Only 9% usage for SC2. Haha.
