well too bad its on crysis

Very interesting thought..

I just want a squad based game with realistic feature in a DTAS gamemode.

Crysis seems to be modular enough. But hey, i dont want a new "CRYSIS-Good/Bad" thread.

If you are interested in emulating Infiltration on Crysis, then you'll be interested in what i've posted.

Crysis has really nice graphics and very interesting terrain. I'm pretty disappointed in Arma2 so far, even with the ACE2 mod out. It still just sucks.
Not to mention it takes twice the power to run compared to Crysis. I don't know why people are still using Crysis as a end all Benchmark. Arma2 takes far more power. I can run Crysis on my machine at playable levels. Arma 2 is a slide show.

I'll say this about Crysis, it has the most realistic scope sway so far, pretty much like Toad's mod for Inf.

If somebody makes all those things into an Inf like mod + a gamemode like DTAS i'll buy Crysis.

ARMA2 is very nice to play around with. I even ignore the low fps it gives me.. But the infantry movement is too clunky, i can only stand it for so long and then i quit.

This is what we need. The real Arma 2.

Virtual Battle Space 2.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8253724260569242420#

They gutted this of everything of value, then called it Arma 2.

There are some graphics that are probably better in Arma 2, but I see a lot of stuff in VBS 2 that makes me think us Arma folk were just a second thought to grab cash.

@Zeep, yeah, the movement really sucks, but what just kills it for me is the lag in the animation. I hit my right mouse key to raise my weapon and nothing happens for over a second, then my weapon finally raises. Driving is crazy because you have to think one or seconds ahead because thats how long its going to take the animation to kick in.

@Everyone -
And really, the war against the Russians? One, it was a cold war between our governments, not between our armies or our people, and it ended like 20 years ago. I'm getting so tired of this World War III crap. I'm an American, and I definitely know who my enemies in the world are. And I don't care if my government tries to be politically correct and call some of them friends. Hey, all the people who crashed airplanes into the world trade towers were from our "friend" Saudi Arabia. So yeah, we know who the real enemies are. Hate to break it to my "government", but the russians are pretty much our allies now.

So lets see some desert maps in Arma 2!

There is exactly one reason I like the idea of playing against Russians - Other than western weapons, it's probably the nation for which we have the most information about their weapons, plus it actually has equipment that can compete. Note that there are also insurgents and guerrillas available as possible enemies/friendlies.

One of the real problems I have with Arma 2.

http://www.gamespot.com/features/6153667/index.html

The Uncanny Valley. I think this is one of the problems with Arma 2. They have tried to move toward very lifelike characters and have failed miserably. My character feels very much like a manaquin jerkily trying to mimic movement. Its horrible. Also while some of the graphics move towards photorealism, the world is missing soooo many things, which makes it look so fake. Its a shame, because some things in it, like the models and vast available weaponry are pretty good. We should gut this game of the good things and stick it all in a Crysis mod.

Well, I've been playing Arma 2 for a while now, and while it may be realistic, the terrain is bland, the graphics are ugly, and its just not fun. Oh, and it needs a Super Computer to run it. At least twice what Crysis needs. I'm sure a much better job could be done with the Crysis engine.
I agree about the sway in that Crysis video. I actually think Arma 2 has it right, its just that there is a lot of lag in the animation which causes everything to feel very "clunky". My real problem with Arma2 is that it takes a massive computer to run it, and the graphics are really ugly. Everything appears to just be different shades of green. The sky is always just an overcast pall of grey. Just ugly. However the models are pretty well done and very detailed. Would like to see models like that in Crysis. Another thing is its just always the same map. Rolling hills of weeds and grass broken up by the occasional abandoned house or church and the rare airstrip. Gets old quick.

However, there are a lot of things we could take from Arma 2 and the Ace 2 mod, that would be really great in a crysis mod.

omg I just love the UT3 engine , best engine out there if you ask me , which you dont but still.

lol I didnt even know it until I saw this zeep . :D

If beppo decide to make INF 2010 on UT3 I'll be so on-board that :D GB is on UT3 engine so that is a big plus :D

Edit: If I get this right , you dont need UT3 to create a game with this?

I doubt it requires anything but the UDK.

You can use it with Visual Studio so that's a big plus for me. I guess when summer rolls around I'll start messing with this and learning Unreal Script.

How many people are there left that can actually help develop a new Infiltration?

Yeah, why doin INF if there is Ground Branch goin. Admittedly we don't know when something playable will be there, but it is likely to be some free beta.
