@zeep, really no need to get angry... but if you guys from Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg) want to write some 'reader letters' (letter to the editor) for their readers corner or whatever they call it then feel free to do so. I think some clarifications about INF should be enough to get it printed..
Yes you're right i guess Beppo. To be honest, i'm a bit surpised myself to be as upset about this as i am. I guess i take inf to heart more than i knew.
But indeed, i will write politely and i hope they print something about it.

Can the original poster or someone else look inside a dutch pczone and post the editorial email or the 'readers feedback' email adres here pls?

I'm calm now.

I'm not.

Someone invite the f***er to an online match and everyone kill/TK him.
Send the reviewer
1)screenshots, showing the better-than-CS graphics
2)videos, showing the features (Correct me if I'm wrong, but does CS use claymores?... no? Well SHOVE THAT UP HIS ***)
3)Spam
4 -optional)A bomb to kill him and his CSh@ computer.

Then go to your computer, open INF and play the best mod ever.

/me jumps in and mentions PC zone, or any other mag with PC in it, never has been and never will be a respected mag.

/Me jumps away before his face is seen around here.

Someone here buying this mag still or has access to the last months issues? I would like to know if any kind of statement about their wrong article was printed, or if reader letters were printed, or if someone actually wrote them some lines or not?

Maybe we should make a nice little timeline sheme starting with H&D, Serpentine, INF, CS, TacOps, TTR, RO aso. Posting the dates, the features (IronSights, FreeAim, CaptureTheCD, PlaceTheBomb, NoCrosshair, MilitaryUnit vs MilitaryUnit, SpecOps vs Terrorists), the versions and stuff like this. Then going over to retail games and other mods startig to jump on the train too. A nice timeline showing what stuff based on what or was developed earlier by whom without any clone shiat talk and stuff like that.
This would be perfect for these kind of press folks... maybe enough to draw the attention of some mags to print such stuff...

That's a good idea Beppo. An article like that and Inf emphasized on the timeline as the most realistic simulation. If i had any space in my agenda and good writing skills i would try it. Sadly my writing iz wery bad and my agewda is too full cause i play too much inf.

And yes, i emailed them back then. A very nice email without teh curses.

Maybe not an article... 'just' a timeline sheme/graphic showing the development. No need to write novels ;)

You got a reply or something alike maybe?

Erm what about takeing them to court? They gave false statements in a slandering maner in a way that is damageing to the image of sentrystudios and the people that worked on the project.

It would seem like a logical step if they havn't published an errata with an apology.

Taking them to court is a silly idea.

And good luck with your quest there Beppo, but I'm pessimistic. The press isn't interested in the truth, that doesn't usually make good copy. In terms of game magazines too they must know how much fun it is to read a reviewer ripping the **** out of a crap game but can't do that for most of their games for fear of pissing off publishers...so why not rip into a little known third-party modification?

This is why I stopped reading games magazines.

I'm sorry if this gets a little off-topic but I would like to do a personal review of some "realistic" FPS:

Counter-strike? I own a copy of the CS Zero retail version of the game and have to say:

I had high expectations from the CS hype and was very dissapointed with the way it looked. The level of detail were'nt even decent, Level designs as exiting as if you were to run around in one of these padded cells they host in asylums and the general texture resolution couldn't be excused with "online preformance" for people with old PC's. I mean, the minimum hardware requirements are Pentium III 500 Mhz and when I compare to some other games it just don't make sense. It appears to be the same old Half-Life engine anyway.

The gameplay was identical to Tactical Operations - extremely basic, I guess it's easy to learn and get into. I think the bots behaved more credible and clever in CS than in TacOps. One thing I accepted at first but grew to hate was the aiming system in CS - to hit anything you had to stop, crouch and fire, making sure not to fire again to soon or you aim would be screwed up. Tactical Ops looks way nicer and it's easy to set up for LAN play. I've played it with some friend and enjoyed it for what it is. That STEAM solution that Valve invented made me realize in a few minutes that it just wasn't worth giving it a shot... Oh, and the guns? You picked them, and ran of to kill everything that moved. After an inital hour of play, I don't think I would have noticed if they'd given me a laser rifle instead, the whole feel was just uninspiring.

I don't think I have to say a lot about Infiltration. It's got the weapon handling, the artistic attention to detail both in level design and gameplay, and the atmosphere that stands well in the competition of newer and more tech-wise impressive games.

End of review. :)

Oh, and I like Raven Shield too...

I agree that taking them to court is probably not a very good idea. In these cases one doesn't usually need to go through with the hole process. It merely serves as an incentive to make them publish the other side of the story.

Game mags .... I used to read edge ... for the interviews ... I guess that's more of an industry magazine ... but why pay to read news that's a month old anyway?

Many people buy these mags cause they do not skim the internet for news every day and many titles you don't know about only get your attention by reading an article about them in a mag. So even if these news are a month old then, for some (most) these news are brand new. Insider reports, previews and reviews about games you cannot buy yet or hit the shelves around the release date of the mag are another thing many like to read. The articles about HL2 and GTA:SA for example are the ones that the folks at my office dig into, each time a mag got some news about these titles. Well the 'scores' presented in those mags are another story due to the fact that no mag out there can allow itself to criticise a hyped game too much without fearing to get on the 'black list' of this or that publisher or game studio. But I talked about this stuff before already, so no need to do it again.

Maybe we will give'em a chance with the next step from INF to then maybe correct their statements about the 'old' version. Well...

Mag67,

I couldnt agree more about the unispired play of cs. I just played cs for the first time (on the source engine for that matter) and could not have been less impressed. ive played a total of probably 5 hours over the last few days so i feel i got a feel for the general gameplay. The maps are weak and really unrealistic. You never feel like you are at the places that you are. The whole feeling of using "realisctic" weapons but running around at the speed of utk4 i found irritating.

I was hoping it would be an INF with better graphics but i was wrong and must repent!
