Basically there is a documentary about bullying coming out and the MPAA wants to rate it R because there are a few "fucks" said in it. I think this should be showed to every junior high and high school student at least twice a year. The trailer will most likely stir up some emotion to the victims, but it's something you want to see.

Ah, yeah, I remember smiling when I read some story where a kid stabbed his bully to death and got away with it because of some "stand your ground" law. Good times, if only that happened more often in place of the victims committing suicide.

Definitely a good movie to show in schools.

It will still fall on plenty of deaf ears though, but hopefully it will encourage others to intervene.

There's just one small problem though. Kids turn out to be douchebags because of bad parenting. That's the source of the problem. So yes, these kids that are being bullied can stand up and fight but until the root of the problem is addressed, there will always be problems like this.

And another thing too. Sometimes, a kid is bullied because he's a d-bag himself. I know at my school, if you were bullied, it was for a good reason.

I think this will be good to show.
The problem in my community ever since I was young was more of gang violence and guns.
Where I grew up if a kid was getting bullied, guaranteed the next week he would be in a gang.
I remember when I was a freshman a kid who bullied some others got killed by one of those kids after the kid joined a gang.

Kids turns into douchebags because they don't know any better and parenting is not always fully to blame. In the UK and I suspect america too, schools act as nurseries almost or "day-cares" from ages 2-18 or so.
Parents drop the kids off at school and pick them up at the end of the day. By the time we're twenty we've probably spent more time amongst other immature people and teachers who barely have any power but what choice do parents have, money is required for the other parenting responsibilities of providing a roof over-head and regular access to food.

Parenting takes some blame for sure but it's a larger reaching social issue and the schooling system is undeniably flawed anyway. It barely helps you get a job anymore let alone prepare you for one, it's just baby-sitting with exams.
And another thing too. Sometimes, a kid is bullied because he's a d-bag himself. I know at my school, if you were bullied, it was for a good reason.

Lol! So sayeth the bully!
What the fuck is a good reason? Bullying a bully isn't justified, it's just hypocritical and probably just a poorly-formed justification for a clearly inappropriate act(A bad excuse)
By your statement that Bullies are caused by bad parenting coupled with the implication that bullying bullies is okay then aren't you suggesting that it's okay to bully someone if their parents are worse than yours?

Bullies in my schools only picked on the kids that didn't stand up to them. I got picked on in junior high by two kids who were known as the bullies of the school. Not a lot, but enough to be annoying. It continued into my freshman year in high school, until one morning, one of them was flicking me in the ear from behind. I snapped on him and ducked him in the face really hard. After that, nobody picked on me ever again.

I got suspended for a couple days, but honestly, it was worth it to stop short what could have been four years of hell.

I'm not trying to say that being a d-bag completely justifies bullying back. I just think we need to realize that bullying happens not only because someone doesn't like some guy's hair or something but also for more substantial reasons. And besides, judging from my geeky personality on here, do you guys really think I did any bullying in school?

What sort of things would someone have to be doing to justify them being bullied Arnox?

That's an attitude that's certainly existed for as long as bullying but you're probably not what's truly considered a 'bullied person' precisely because you were strong enough to stand up for yourself.
The bully made a poor selection when he chose his victim that day but i'm willing to bet your actions didn't prevent him from bullying anyone else.

Break their arms and they probably won't bully anyone else again :)

The strong prey on the weak. Like it or not it's what got humankind to where it is. If someone bumps into you (hard) in the store, your very first instinctual impulse is to size them up and decide whether you are dominant. Laws and rules are not just going to immediately negate the collective millenia of development that got us to where we are.

The problem to me isn't the family or the kid. It's society that emasculates males from an incredibly young age. Kids can't 'play rough' or be kids anymore lest they not conform to our highly structured and politically correct society. My wife is a teacher and they are compelled to keep the kids from touching each other, let alone wrestle or play. I would propose bullying stems from the pent up frustration of adolescent males living in a society that suppresses nearly all their more basic biological instincts.

somewhere; sometime?
I don't think you understand the concept of bullying as it applies to the discussion.

keying someone's car doesn't really fit the example.
if you keyed someone's car for no reason they'd probably try to kick your ass because you keyed their car.

it's not really bullying either way.

OK, what if I keyed your car 'cause I... didn't like your hair? Point is, you'd still beat me up. Which is retaliation which would still be bullying since people get beat up for a lot less. I was saying that sometimes, people bully others for good reason, nothing more. I wasn't saying the action is justified.
