Gulp, I own two guns, a 22 rimfire and a 22 pellet pistol. Darn, I'm a criminal!! I never knew why my brothers all owned way more than two guns each before. Now, to decriminalize myself, I've got to go and apply for an FAC so I can buy my third gun! Oh, wait a minute, I had a 30-30 for a while and I sold it. Whew, I did have three guns at once. I am relieved!!

Well this being the Nanny State, woops I mean the UK, we're not allowed to have guns 'cos Tony said so /~unreal/ubb/html/wink.gif That rule doesn't apply though in parts of West London, South London and other various places around the UK.

BTW, I got Wirenews Direct (gameplay.com's newsletter) in the mail the other day and saw this. It's a competition to win a real decommissioned bazooka. I thought W-T-F? I then entered, because with that mutha, the neighbours are not gonna knock at your door asking you to turn the music down /~unreal/ubb/html/smile.gif

That's not you Ken, is it? Or possibly Brian or Johnny Slaughter?
Prolly not, but those are the people I know with that kind of number.
If he's got that many, he's probably not contributing to that crime.
BTW, I have several knives and a slingshot. Guns are spendy, and need paperwork and background checks and permits and stuff.

Guns are not our problem....it's the educational system and the legal system. WTF? Because a guy owns 17 guns, you assume he's just going to commit crimes LOL!

Btw I own four guns, and I'm not the least bit scared to come up there and shoot you in the buttocks, if you make another ignorant comment like that Voyd.

It's handguns that are banned in the UK btw - shotguns are still permissable.

you can look at guns in several ways.

1. If no one has them, then no one will get shot.

2. if everyone has them, then the chances are that there will be increased numbers of ppl getting shot.

Both positions are extreme of course but the logical (my logic btw!) conclusion is that if less ppl have guns, then less ppl will get shot.

The evidence in the UK speaks for itself.

Since banning handguns, gun crimes have fallen dramatically. End of story. Perhaps its a fluke, perhaps not.

but why do ppl feel the need to own guns? that's a genuine question, cos i really don't get it. a gun is something used to kill something else. That's its sole purpose (oh, except for knocking baddies unconscious with the butt of it in films). knives etc, etc, have other purposes.

would be interested in ppl's views.

I've never even pointed a gun at a person before. I've taken so many educational gun classes for safety and maintainance, there is no reason for me to play around with them. I have permits for all my guns. The people without permits are the ones who usually commit the crime. And most people who have more than 5 guns are usually the following: a collecter (me), ex military personel, or a hunter that hunts a wide variaty of game. the most common number of guns a criminal has:2.

All you have to do is smile!
No kidding... i 100% deafened my left ear for 3 hours from a potato gun. I didn't even hear the sound, it just went numb. Some stupid bastard had not discharged all the propellant and was also stupid enough to put the trigger on the very end of the pipe. It was leaning on that end against a wall, muzzle up at about head height, so all i did was touch it to pick and it and zap...

Everyone came running but i didn't even hear it at all.

Boy, don't them potatos fly tho /~unreal/ubb/html/wink.gif.

And no guns here.

Thanks for proving my point.

i can't remember your exact words: guys like guns - a sense of power.

ironic. if that's what ppl need to feel a sense of power then they really must have small penises.

don't generalise. i'm a 'guy' and i wouldn't dream of ever having a gun. A gun's sole purpose is to destroy stuff and it's purpose in 90% (? guessing) of cases is to kill another human. or at least injure one.

<sarcastic mode>
bows and arrows? yeah, they're a real problem in today's society - you often turn on the news and see the main headline

Woman killed in drive by bow and arrowing

</sarcastic mode>

i'm still waiting for a more noble response - such as ... well, i can't think of one myself.

and my second question has not yet been addressed.

Perhaps it ain't me who needs to think m8.

And still no one has addressed my questions

1. Why do ppl want guns? They're designed to kill stuff. Are you all wannabe murderers?

2. handguns have been banned in the UK and there has been a drastic reduction in gun related crime - so why not ban all guns everywhere?

You're a little closed to things that could possibly be dangerous aren't you?
Guys love guns. It's the feeling of power. I personally love holding a mini-14 and blowing a beer can apart at 75 yards. It's fun to own guns. It's fun to shoot guns. There are also many things to shoot that aren't people. I like to hunt. I use a bow for that, tho. I don't hear you complaining that bow and arrows are things that people shouldn't have. They are meant for nothing but killing too, right?
Think man.

Um, Ford Scrotum, shut up. Guns are a hobby for me. I LOVE going to the range. I used to hunt too, but dont have the time anymore.

And of course I own guns for defense. If somebody breaks into my house, I'm not going to stand their with my hand down my pants.

It seems as though you have the idea that guns breed crime?! Where the f*ck did you get that idea! You assume a gun is going to cause a normal law abiding citizen, to just up and start commiting crimes!? I mean think jeez.

I'm not going to deny that guns are involved in alot of crime, but statistics can be manipulated. Guns are not the CAUSE anyway. Its our ridiculous legal system and our ridiculous educational system. Would outlawing guns take them out of the criminals hands? Oh sure, it worked for drugs, those are illegal and nobody can get those right? Please.

And there is an even deeper, very fundamental issue here. Thats the right of a human being to take responsibilty for their own lives, and make their own decisions. You think you are so high and mighty that you should decide what I can and can not own? Why should it be your business or the government's business what I do, so long as I don't affect somebody else's right to lead their lives. I guess thats how you people like it in Britain though, thats why all the sensible people left and started new colonies here. Unfortunately, the US is just getting worse and worse in that regard anyway, with more and more legislation and less and less education.
