Actually...
I needed a nickname. Like anybody else, and likewise, i wanted something original. Back in the forums of other games (ok, i admit... RTS games), i was named M Player and later, Demo Truck. (hun?!?!?) Right... this was in the forums of Dune games, as well as C&C games (namely RA2). Has you might think by now, those we're jerky names (oh and Nahand isn't?
).
SOOOO...
While editing around with C&C RA2 files, there were the barracks internal label. This comes from the first C&C, where nahand was the internal label name for The Hand Of NOD, the "evil" side barracks where you trained soldiers. This NOD faction is a dictatorial-like oppressive side that does anything to get to their ultimate goal: PEACE. (if you're REALLY interested, check some C&C sites...).
NOD itself had mythical-like conotations: i don't know biblical history, but it seems NOD is refered as the LAND of NOD, a place where Kane (Kain, Cane, wathever), the evil son of ADAM took refugee after being banished...
All "evil" conotations (now Bathory, stop drooling
)...

I always seemed to be "fascinated" by arab culture; ever since history lessons back at school. Added to the info about the word Nahand, i thought it would be very to my liking to have such nick, with fonetics resembling arab dialect.
FINNALY, PART 3 (OH MY GOD, DOES THE MADDNESS EVER STOPS???):
One last noteworthy detail is: i once thought to myself how do people get nicknames (i mean the most weird), just like in this thread. So i thought searching the web searchengines
for something about MY nick: Nahand.
There was one occurence that caught my attention. LoTR.
I'm no BIG fan of Lord Of The Rings, and i was surprised to know that Nahand actually exists in that weird Tolkien-invented elf language.
It seems that Nahand means, to the letter: "he who hides in the dark; secretive; evil aggressive". Coincidence or not, this pretty much defines what i am (there's more, but i'm really a social-outcast that like dark and "covert ops-style" methods).
There it is. More than anything else, Nahand seems my absolutely right choice. (anyone actually believes in fate?).
BTW, i'm 20 (near 21) years old, I live in a small European country planted at the most WESTERN side of said continent.

My name is equivalent to the carnivorous plant "Sonnentau" (lat.: Drosera). I love it because it looks so beautiful and in fact is so pityless. It catches its victimes from the ambush like I do with my favourite weapon...the sniper rifle!!!
