Underground power lines........believe it or not only without power for about 5 seconds as the power flicked off and then back on once. I have two sections of fence leaning over probably around 15-20 degrees off the vertical and I'm going to try and fix that tonight or tomorrow night. I'll be preparing for Ivan this weekend. The only thing I don't have is some braces for my two-car garage door. I may buy those metal ones or just some 2x4s for now. I just hope I have this fall/winter to prepare my roof for next season.

I was thinking an admin should merge these two threads also!

That really freaking sucks. I have two friends in Florida and lost communication with them both for about six days straight because of Frances (phones/internet/power... all gone for at least two days, and their phone service still isn't back). I hope Ivan doesn't do too much damage

I've been fortunate enough to not have lost power through both previous hurricanes. Hopefully I'll be able to say the same for Ivan, if it even hits near to here. Frances' eye went right over without much of a fuss here in Brandon, which is just east of Tampa.
