wow, not a single underground band on there! While these bands are brtish they arent underground at all.

Tryad is great, indie, and.. free.

Einsturzende Neubauten is one of my favorite bands. Most of it is unapproachable and too avant-garde for the average listener, but you can ease into em' with songs like "Die Interimsliebenden", "Sabrina", and "Stella Maris". If you like the sound, definitely check out the rest of their works. Perpetuum Mobile is a great album, and the Jewels album has a number of great tracks that should be approachable, too.

PowerMetal: Circus Maximus (norway)

Symphonic Metal: Kamelot

Progressive Metal: Tomorrow's Eve and Seventh Wonder

and for the hell of it, if you like Prog Metal look up Dream Theater (even though they arent European), they are THE Prog band out their right now.

Stuff like Linkin Park? Bullet for my Valentine have the angsty emo thing going, bit heavier though. I'm not going to mention Rammstein after my recent bannage.

I agree with the some of the others, Kamelot, Lost Prophets and muse are awesome.

On a Nightwish sort of feel, try Within Temptation.

When it comes to rock I like me some Unheilig and Oomph.

Both are compared to Rammstein sometimes, but I prefer Unheilig's more... instrumental songs typically. Those are definitely a bit different than what you typically think what Rammstein sounds like. Oomph just has some catchy songs in my opinion.

Trance is really my specialty, so if you named some more narrow electronic genres I'm sure others and I could definitely make some suggestions. Pendulum is probably one of if not the most popular electronic group right now in my opinion. However, their older stuff like Slam have a lot more hiphop influence and they're technically from Australia if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah not exactly underground, but far from mainstream in America.
