Game voice is losing interest, post a reason for NOT connecting ;)
is it....
*because i dont have a mic
*because i dont want people to laugh at my voice
*because it looks complicated
*because i dont want other people around me to listen in
*because i think it`ll slow me down (ping)
*because i got a F*%£#ng faul mouth :D

Atleast one of them should fit ;) but seriouly, it is cool. Its always funny to sneek past Sexmachine, release the team and here him shout "NOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo"
hah.gif

Last time i looked it was £50 for TWO Mircrosoft headsets with the game voice, BUT all you really need is a microphone...they are cheap and easy, im sure every PC comes with one :rolleyes: find it, and put it to good use :)

* because I am a lazy tart
* because the server is always empty
* because I fear Trueblood's evil laughter :D
* because talking to unknown women via mic always gives me an errection and makes me wanna do some dirty talk

... well well, lots of different reasons NOT to connect. But still there is one big reason to do: IT IS FUN ... trust me, it really is :)

When you have a perpetual hard-on like me, talking to unknown women via mic is just icing on the cake. :eek: :lol: :mwink: :fluffle:

Seriously, I'll try and join on Sunday, as long as there are others on as well. :)

Well, maybe I'll join then too.... I always have my music on pretty loud ( can't live without it ) and try to "sing" with it :D So I might not say that much.......but it's fun to listen too when you guys go blablabla :lol:

See and hear you tonight ;)

Yeah it was... interesting.:) I wasn't prepared for the accents though.:lol: Also the compression that gamevoice uses gives everyone a bit of a robotic tone to their voice.:) Not that we talked much. It was really a lot of random laughter and me threatening Trueblood after he frags me for the 14th time.:D Someone else from the states has to join up next sunday just to balance everything out. Oh, and bathory better be on next Sunday too.:nag:

Finally bought a new soundcard (Creative SoundBlaster 4.1) and guess what??? Still the same problem.
Direct Play Voice setup still came up with error 0x80004005. So it wasn't the soundcard after all.

After searching the net a bit more, I ran into a couple of messages of people with the same problem, all running XP with DirectX 9.0a.

When searching the Microsoft Product Support I found a solution (sadly the don't mention what exactly the cause is). For people with the same problem, here it is:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;810686
It actually means ending the task and a bit of Regitry editing, but it seems to work.
Inserting the value's 3,3,2 as mentioned gave me listening capability but no speach.
Inserting the value's 3,3,3 gave me both.

Internet Connection Sharing
If you are running two PC's with GameVoice from the same IP-adress (Router or ICS), don't forget to change the following settings on one of the PC's. Under "Game Voice Settings -> Advanced" disable "use default UDP Port for chat sessions" and put the portnumber on something else then 9110 (e.g. 9111), otherwise the second PC won't be able to connect.

Everything is finaly working now, only to find out that the mic of my new 20 Euro headset is not that great ...
But next time I'll join you all.
:cool:
