I didn't really like the demo much. I didn't quite "get" it. Probably because I wasn't paying much attention to the tutorial. :D

Is it really worth buying on the basis that I might get into it more after a few plays?

Btw I'm only really into dnb and other EDM so you can **** off with expecting me to play to rock music. :)

Mate, I really reckon it is. And for 10 bucks, even if I'm wrong, you're not out of that much cash :p

I play 90% DnB too.
I play mainly the 'mono' mode (the most brainless one)which means: avoid grey bricks, catch the coloured ones.
In that mode if you play a slower song it gets quite dull but because DnB has such a high BPM it's by far the most exciting ride you'll get. So mono mode + DnB = twitch gaming.
If I see a graph of a song is sloping upwards (slow track) I rarely bother to play it :)

I find it's always fun to pick up every so often and play a new track you got.
The dethroned e-mails can keep you pretty competitive if you choose to follow them up. (which I do with cool music tracks)

Number of dethroned e-mails: 26 :D
(you can choose not to receive dethroned e-mails too, but that's kinda boring)

Cool, thanks for the post. Think I might get this over the weekend. Need something other than Cod4 to play anyway. :)

Almost everyone plays Mono anyway, which only consist of evading gray blocks, collection the colored ones. I don't play the game anymore because they nerfed the mono speed a lot since the second update. The maximum speed is for small childrens who are afraid of a real challenge.

What I expected was a optimization, not a "Balance" with the mono, it was just fine. Now it's easy as hell to score all color blocks on Valve-Art of war. And my favorite song. Which wasn't before that stupid noob patch.

I just got the game, quite liking it so far. tried it mostly on pointman at the moment, Queens of the Stone age - No-One Knows, and Ash - Burn Baby Burn are 2 damn good tracks out of the ones i've tried so far.
My audiosurf name is Syri (surprised it wasn't taken already)

I thought this was a pretty good video interview with Dylan about Audio Surf.

Has an interesting section towards the end where the interviewer asks if Dylan also believes that the PC as a gaming platform is dying like Cliffy B. said. Needless to say that he doesn't agree :D

Funny that Dylan should mention Tune Racer in the interview. I was going through my HDD the other day and found a copy of Tune Racer 2. Here's a link for anyone who's interested (it's freeware). It's a nice look at the origins of Audiosurf.

Arise, Sir Thread!

If anyone's interested, this week Audiosurf is $2.49 on Steam to celebrate the new shopping cart (any reason for a celebration, I suppose!). Go get it if you haven't already. :)

I managed to get Blaaguuu to gift it to me, after I paypaled him $2.50 for it, because Steam lamely doesn't like my paypal for some inane reason.

Having fun; getting good grades on most of my songs even though I'm a fairly strict Mono player. They need to have seperate leaderboards for Mono/Everything else IMO, since it's pretty rare that a Mono char can take on non-Mono chars in scoring.

I guess I haven't played much since my last post in this thread; fun at first glance, then repetitively boring.

Still playing from time to time. I like to listen to my music with it. What I listen to works well with the game though (Electronic music)
