The reason why we are suposed to play INF related maps, textures. etc. in the /infiltraion/<correct folder> is becasuse it stops it from showing up in regular UT.
The UT .ini does not scan the INF folders, so anything in them is not seen, Hence you cant use INF maps in UT.
There is very little diffrence in ceating a exe that extracts into the respective folder. That 34MB pack, which contains weapons, com tools, and voicepacks, if you unzip it into your UT folder, everything falls into place.
Anyhow my last comment on the ONE LARGE PACK and why I am not in favor of it.
-One large file to download causes many problems as you need a stable connection.
-Large files are hard to maintain.
-Large files are hard to recreate
Other comment, your argument of downloading maps off a server at 56k is moot because it would take well over 3 days to download infiltraion by torrent at 56k. Even regular downloads of 35MB would take about 100min.
INF has grown too large to fit on 1 700MB CD, even at dsl speeds it takes about 60min to download that. In otherwords playing on 56K has become impractical, and a game so old only has so much apeal.
