FieldMedic said:>Saladin , i listened to your voices and i ran into a big problem while trying to apply the effects (the ones used on other langage radio voices) on them .
There is a very lot of " PFFF " , this noise that occurs when you breath on the micro (i think that you are too near of it when you speak) .
It ruins completly the whole voice when i try to apply an effect.
The volume is really very low , but it is not really a problem as it can be corrected by a sound editor but the "PFF" is killing the voices effects.
I can only suggest you to redo every voices . Do not bother with the taunts, as it is a bad idea for INF 2.9 in my opinion , no other langage voice include taunts .
And i will be able to apply some effects on them with a better result.
But ,if jayhova or anyone want to do them , i can leave them the work.

grab the top of your mic with your hand encompassing it fully and leaving only a small opening of about 2-3 inches (like some rap musicians and voice-instrument-actors do most of the time) and speak directly into the little opening (maybe even with the hand surrounding your lips).
This way you do not need to speak loud and this also reduces the hard breathing stuff most times if you breath thru your nose. In addition it adds some sort of radio feel to your voice. Volume can always be increased later on, so no need to shout into the mic this way. And try to speak all commands in a row within one take to keep the same sound, volume and style. Repeat the sentences that were not that good directly within this one take.
I did this stuff too and only used one take with only one command repeated within. And the result was ok I guess.![]()

jayhova said:Not very profesional advice. This sort of thing increases the proximity effect allowing for very bassey sound to be produced. It also makes it much easier to overdrive the mic. It has the same effect for controlling wind noise as the method I described by sheiding the mic.
I did these before the new ones were done. I cleaned it up alot{GD}NTKB said:Jay those are the wrong ones. he posted the new ones in the Foriegn voice pack thread in this forum. Check there.![]()
It doesn't simulate it as well as you might think. The best way to simulate this is by actually not speaking directly into the mic. There really isn't a situation where the mic is encapslated by your hand. Mics are generally placed so that they are not in direct line with your mouth so that there is no breath noise. The diaphram on the mic will move based on compression waves in the air. These waves eminate in a cone from your mouth and the mic doesn't really need to be directly in front of the mouth.Beppo said:ehh it wasn't meant to be professional at all... this way it comes close to a headset or helmet radio/mic that is partially covered by equipment or 'embedded' in your clothing. It simply sounds ok and clear right from the start even if using such a cheap and crappy mic as I have.
Just test it out and you will see that it works...
