Epic Rumour Mill Churns

GamePro is reporting on a few rumours that have popped up in EGM's Rumour Mill column. The first of which is that Gears of War 3 is already in production and will feature fiver player co-op, with players taking control of the Delta Squad characters.

It should be no surprise that Gears 3 is underway, given the success of the first two. Five players can already play in Horde mode, so five player co-op in story mode doesn't seem like much of a stretch.

The second rumour probably centers around the as-yet unnanounced new IP from Epic owned People Can Fly. EGM is reporting that Epic is developing a multi-platform horror title.

GoW2 hasn't been out for that long has it? No need to start developing the sequel yet right? EPIC has their secret PCF project to make and the ut3 expansion.

And five player co-op? Not on consoles imo.

meh, maybe it's true, but i'm sceptical.

Well IIRC, Cliffy has already stated that they want to make gears at least a trilogy, and probably more if interest continues... and judging by the sales of GoW2, there is certainly still interest. Why wouldn't they have atleast a small team working on GoW3 already?

Cliff has already said that GoW3 wouldn't be out for a while, that he is working on something new next. I doubt it will be out in 2010.

Ah, true... But "Production" doesn't mean they have a giant team of people working round the clock. I imagine that they are working on it in some capacity...

Gears of War 3 come November 2010. Fit's into the biannual release schedule they've stuck to thus far.

A. GamePro didn't "start" this one.

B. Have you never seen a TV network, newspaper, or magazine reference something from a competitor? It happens daily. News is news.
