Also what EAS-INF-LondonCity needs is, somebody to try and sell you "The Big Issue", every time you turn a corner ;) ;)

You can do that by piping the ucc-server output to a file. Are you running linux/unix or windoze?

I did not follow the whole thread - so what is the status of the map? Is it ready for a combatmaps upload or does it still crash?

Well I have the log file being created when I start ucc.exe. It is just that it seems to over-write what ever is there when you start the server again. BTW, I am using windows.

For FatM: London Crashed again but this time with a different error.

I believe you should wait for Fat Marrow to get back. He still might have to do some work on the Chopper mover and there seems to be a "Glass" issue that can cause the server to crash.

I believe he will be back in a week or so.

FIX2 did a GPF on level change on GD tonight. I don't know if this is significant. PM me if you wan't any logs.

EDIT: just checked... might be due to the next map also (bagdadxl)
it crashed just after this (e.g. all after where "critical" entries and exiting)

In anycase, try as I might to get the Server to crash I can not do it. I am thinking that there has to be more people on, i.e. not just me and a bot. LondonCity has a BUTT load of glass that can be shot out. It seems that just about every building has breakable glass, even when you do not "see" glass to shoot out. Just shoot at a building with a 40MM and you see glass falling.

I thought breakable "Glass" was a mover? If so it seems a "lot" of the glass should be removed if that is so. That should make the map preform better too.

yes they are movers. I think only the areas where you can shoot glass out by sniping should be breakable. Otherwise leave the others alone.

Well there is the main glass on the Objective Buliding (Ground floor window, middle left windows, and top windows/doors). Bus Stop has glass (near Obj. Building) and then there are two buildings near D Spawn that have glass windows on ground level and above those windows.

Every where else where glass breaks *should* be removed. All the others seems to just have glass falling just to fall.

Ok, I haven't yet had a chance to look into these things.

I did put a lot of BreakingGlass actors high up around the outside of 'static' buildings/windows, such that a shot entering the collision cylinder of those actors causes a shower of glass but nothing else. These aren't movers; they just spawn particles when activated.

I've never known these things to cause problems; maybe it's a problem with memory running out or something similar when too many glass fragments are spawned at once. If this is the case, reducing or eliminating these solo BreakingGlass actors will help, I guess.

I'll try and find out which particular BreakingGlass actor has that tag (could be fun :) ).

I'll also look into the chopper thing again. Don't hold your breath though (I've just come back from a 11 hour night flight. Where's my head at?).

Addition information - Chopper - I have been running FIX2, which has your new chopper (and Opfor too on Brikby). I have not seen a Server crash due to the Chopper mover since you been gone. So, it seems to be just the Glass thing that is causing the issue now!

Oh, cool. I thought the new chopper actor had been tried and had caused a crash. But if not, great.

I've found the problem with the glass -- there was a strange map bug with one specific breaking glass actor (No. 67) which I think I can fix. The rest of the glass shouldn't give any trouble.

As for the Chopper crashes. I never really saw in the logs that the new chopper caused a crash, I just assumed it did. Once you took out the *new* chopper the server still crashed. This is when I found the No. 67 glass issue in the logging files.

Sorry for that wild hair. Now I have rolling logging files and I do not loss information when I restart the server.

When I say that No 67 has ever caused the crash, that is since the new Chopper! Before with the the old Chopper I bet both would have caused the server to crash :eek:

Well, it's not far off, you know...

A night version would probably involve a darker sky (more interesting possibilities with the chopper, I guess) but very similar lighting in the streets.

I could maybe create a wandering random sniper actor to simulate muggings, perhaps?
