Exactly -AEnubis-, but thats what this forum is about. I mean for the most part, our ideas are pretty good ideas. I don't recall anyone complaining about UT99 playerscale or the pace of the game. These playerscale, double jump ideas came from EPIC and were disliked by the community, those are good examples of EPIC NOT listening to its community. We came up with ideas for guns, game features and details that will probably not be included in UT2007. But if they were included it would only be a positive for the game because the suggestions came from the Unreal community, and wouldn't you like it if Epic listened to your ideas -AEnubis-? I'm sure you would. Its only the controvercial ideas in this forum that are useless to Epic for they would not appeal to the general public.

Actually, I'm fairly confident epic does read my posts with fair consideration, as well as a couple other more seasoned posters here.

All I'm saying, is it would be more effective if there was less "bitching in this forum" or less of the more outlandish "only ever in a mutator" idea's to sift through.

I know if I was an epic lurker here, I'd definately have a list of names I read, and only very occasionally skimmed the rest. With the amount of BS in some forums, it's amazing they have the time to ever find any of the good suggestions.

...but hey, don't let me tell you what to do (and I'm not just saying that directly to you), do as you will, Epic has done a good job with all the games that were done exclusively by them, so BS here or not, I'm confident they will get the job done.

Are you implying that I bitch about Epic in this forum? the only time that I bitched in this forum is when i bitched about you (looking back now it was kinda funny). I have never questioned Epic's ability to create a GREAT game, in fact in an earlier post by me in this thread I was talking about how Epic is fixing all of the mistakes of UT2004 (which were not many).

This forum doesn't have much bitching, as I stated earlier, (can't speak for everyone) we came up with many great ideas. Usually these ideas are derived from the bitching, when someone complains and then you complain back with a decent argument about how their bitching is arrogent and illogical, it is wise to state an alternative or solution. Once again I can't speak for everyone but we do indeed try to contribute on this forum by response to the bitching of some of the people on this forum.

Most of the posts made here are productive criticism you know, it's the way you interpret it, someone at Epic can even read these posts and make a good decision. It wouldn't be nice for us to LIE and say "omg epic u r teh perfect wateva u make is perfect! da shock rifle is da best even tho i may think it si 2 detailed i kno wat u do is perfect so keep it that way!!!1", now would it?

What do u expect from people on the ut2k7 forum to talk about if we haven't seen much from it yet? Obviously we're going to "b!tch" about the things that was messed up in 2k4 that we'd like to see fixed in 2k7, if we didn't, then how would they know what they messed up on, what needs to be fixed, what the community wants, etc?

Do you know one of the reasons why Epic is toning down the movement? It's coz of the constant "B!tching" of forumers that kept on saying "UT99>*" when they haven't even played 2k7.

hmmmmmmmm..... wow, Bullet10k, we're arguing now aren't we? I don't hate arguing I just hate arguing when someone doesn't know what they're talking about because its too early in the game's developement to make a good complaint about something in it. If you don't have a good argument you shouldn't be saying anything at all in the first place.

After people played UT2003 they missed the UT99 style and found it to be more enjoyable, Epic responded and is now bringing back the UT99 style of movement and playerscaling. If there were such complaints about Playerscale and maneuverability before the release of any info about the UT2003 movement Epic would have dismissed the complaints.

That really depends one what you’re referring to.

Yes Epic is the king in engine development and happened to make two of the best games in the world at the time of Unreal v1 and original UT.

However, there were people such as myself who liked the original ideas and dreamed of the day when newer technologies would enhance the realness of the already perfect ideas and story lines.

For example the original Unreal game story line was amazing, you were in this distant world in the middle of know were: The back ground music used in that game is what enhanced this feeling so much because it was creepy and eerie. Not like this techno crap used today.
the music in Unreal-1 is what is known as New age music by the way.

Anyway,
So here we are with Unreal II, on the same plant.
Yes the engine looks way better but where the hell are the old stone like castles and the gothic mood the Epic’s amazing and original team captured?
Simple, Epic got rid of all the old developers and hired in new ones.

Whats glide wrapper? How does it make the game look better? got any screenies?

I got UT99 running on my X800XL (i can see glide wrapper is for nvidia just am curious) and it looks gorgeous. Much better lighting then the majority of UT2004 maps.


btw, I love all the UT games. Just find UT99 more fun as I don't play it as much
