Remake of the popular Unreal Tournament 2004 map DM-Goose2k4 by Philipp "Soma" Urlich

Construction
_____________________________________

At first I thought that because of the different movement direct converting of the map wouldnt work so I started building it from scratch.
Unfortunately I got a lot of stuff wrong with the scaling and the map ended up too big. Betatesters were complaining and suggested using the 2k4 BSP which I then did.

First step was to modify certain aspects of the 2k4 BSP to work with the new movement of UT3. Surprisingly enough it was a lot less than I expected.
In my initial build from scratch I decided to go for an asian theme because there already are so many industry and necris maps out there.
I decided to keep that theme with the new BSP too because I like it and IMO it turned out really well. For the final release I managed to tweak out the lighting quite a bit
so now it looks even better.

This is my best map so far and I'm really proud of the outcome. I hope you all have as much fun playing this map as I had creating it!

I dunno ...Im not a mapper, this map feels exact like 2k4 version but in ut3 with the movement for ut3 in this map, in the central areas i felt a bit big in size and scale (semicircular stairs and outdoor corridors ). The lighting is fine and the outdoor areas mmm not bad only you could have done more fitted and is seems a bit like...."cutted" and "stamped" like the lights ad atmospheres is not the even place...

Overall is ok and the oriental chinese is very clean

Woo, crazy oriental design and good nightime sky with good gameplay (flow and connectivity) inside and outside (sort of outside anyway). I noticed some wild color combinations and intricate designs but they look great and work; seriously though, this map is not horrible and not way overdone (of course, I have bloom, etc. turned off). What fog? Anyone know a good plumber, I found at least one leak that needs fixing.;) Some bots do hang out until you fire on them (at least in TDM), so not sure if they're waiting for a command or what (other team).

Ahh, you're right...maybe I didn't see those lights and textures close enough. Well, better use of things than I could ever do. Congrats, downloading and playing, anyway.
