"Cruising At The Speed of Iron!"
It's public now...

StealthDP was nice enough to include my map in
their DM list. Glad they didn't waste their time to review
it though because it was my first map.

Wow man, my first puplished work. :D

Maybe I should finish all those other incomplete maps
I've done since.

Death Match in Bio Facility anyone?

:biorifle:

Well..The Monk himself *did* offer to run the map for you guys..why don't you figure out when you want to play it and email StealthDP to set up a time. Then you'll get to play with plenty of bandwidth too.. :)

The offer from SDP is very kind, but SteathDP's Playground gives me a ping of 300-350 (I heard the server is located in Compton CA, which is practically at the other side of the world, as I'm Dutch) and even worse, that damn UTPure entirely kills me HUD! :( I can't aim because I have no crosshair and I have to type "behindview 1" (in an invisible console!) to see on which team I am!

Oh man that sucks..the ping alone is reason enough to skip it. As for the HUD problem; I've experienced it on a different UTPure server..played out the match with no HUD and then it was fine next round. Reconnecting often fixes the problem for me..I just didn't feel like reconnecting in this match. As always..try cleaning out all old UTPureRC*.* files in your unrealtournament\system\ folder and cache and then giving it another try.. I dunno..it's buggy but it keeps the cheaters out so that's cool.

It is really effective for preventing cheating with aim bots?

That's cool. I have always wondered why some people think
it is fun to use an aim bot and piss everyone off. They play
for different reasons I guess. Personally, I don't have to
win or even place to have fun. Some were brought up differently
though. To them winning is everything. Even if they have to
take the fun out to get it. :(

Every time I look the StealthDP server is full. :(
Look at the usage graph. It hardly ever gets below 15 players.
But I am not a big CTF fan anyway. Prefer DOM over CTF
but nobody plays that anymore. :(
Oh well, there is still DM. But according to StealthDP's stats page,
CTF players now outnumber DM players.
Should I take it as a sign that I need to play more CTF?

:D yep:D

I dunno why some people use bots..probably like to see their high scores and like how it actually gives them a chance in a game that they usually suck at bigtime. Course..a bot can't protect you when you run out of bullet ammo or when there's a combo waiting around the corner for you..so it just helps them. Losers.

Yeah, the playground is almost always full; if you want in there's a nifty little trick though; in UT (add stealth to your favorites), go in as spectator, turn off spectator mode, then the second someone leaves, hit tab and type reconnect. You'll most likely get in. :) OR..just be in as spectator, turn off spectator mode (but don't disconnect or reconnect..you'll get rejected if there's no room) and wait until the map ends; chances are you'll get in on the next map.

AAARGH!! Not more zones!! :p

I tried that, it doesn't work! There's the see-through-limit of 3 warpzones, there's the max zonecount of 64 zones and there's the lame Unreal engine that can't take zoneportals at non-integer angles... :(

The set-up I used (cutting the sphere in 6 pieces) is by far not the only set-up I tried, but it's the only one that seems to work without any (permanent) HOM. :hmm:

You'll always have the bumping, no matter how you cut the sphere, but the sliding is indeed a down-side of using few zones. I lowered the gravity to make the sliding less annoying, but still...

In short:

Winners never cheat, cheaters never win.

astyanax maybe for Sfear]|[ u should make a solid sphere surrounded by a hollow sphere and people walk on both sides. That would make the zone problem less of a worry and maybe less warp zone bugs (to bad no shock though:( ).
Have one flag on the solid sphere and the other flag on the outer sphere at the opposite end. And put stairs at several points where you can go from the top sphere to the sphere above/below you (it's kind of disorienting ain't it folks?).

Hmmmm.... and how do you think you'd have to walk over those stairs?? Halveway the staircase you'd suddenly get turned upside-down, because the 'solid' sphere would be the 'ceiling' of the hollow sphere.... or am I seeing this wrong? :B

I just said a walk on inside sphere first because then the ceiling/floor of the other sphere would result in easier warpzone handling. Hopefully.
An outside sphere and an inside sphere is sweet sounding tho.
