Good lord those are some small trunks when he's in the sea. Scarily small.

Girls, explosions, fighting, everything you expect from a Bond teaser really. Heres hoping they've ditched the ridiculous CGI sequences that they seemed so fond of in the last one.

I think Craig will make a good bond. I just hope the return of the Goldeneye director will give the series some credibility again. I hate kitsch bond. Actually come to think of it I hate all Bond except Dr. No.

minus crazy CGI, it looks like another "hollywood" over done film. I can only hope for the best thou. Otherwise, it looks like another Mission Impossible flick (Even thou bond is so much better than MI)

Really? I always felt like all the MI movies, except the first, were just Bond knock-offs. Bond is about explosions and girls and cool flashy crap. MI is about secrecy, espionage, with minimal explosions and gunfighting, and almost no girly stuff; basically behind-the-scenes work.

Its two different worlds practically. Of course, they merged those two worlds with the MI2-3 movies thanks to the moron directors who have no clue what MI is really about. Bond has his own feel, and MI has its own feel, and they butchered the MI feel for a flavor more along the lines of Bond because I guess that sells better. Idiots.

I really enjoyed the original MI tv shows. MI2 and 3 give it no justice. They shouldnt be called MI at all, but instead called "Bond! Some other guy with guns and explosions and girls!" Again, Idiots.

Now, about this movie, I thought it looks like it has some good potential. I'll probably go watch it. Im curious to see how this new actor plays Bond. This is a "James Bond" so I expect all this flashy stuff, and when I see it I like it. With MI2-3 I see it and think they just made a Bond clone and I just cringe.

Anyone know who the new Bond girl is in this movie?

So are they going to follow the original Bond-novel this time around ? (the first CR-movie was an extremely bad spy-comedy).
Or does this movie just happen to have the name and the main character of 'Casino Royale' ?

Yeah, the original novel this time around. Not a parody.

I'm personally optomistic simply because... it's based on a novel, which ought to give the movie more than just a cookie-cutter "bad guy with rediculous scheme, James Bond has sex and blows things up" saturday morning cartoon format. That was fun back when they put some backbone into it. Today... you couldn't be sure if they were directly a movie or the world's slowest music video.

Other than that, I demand sex and stuff blowing up.

So, we're just supposed to assume that Judy Dench is the only M Bond has ever had? OK.

It's impossible to tell from a trailer with .5 second long scenes all mashed together if the movie's gonna be any good. I hope it will be more realistic this time. In the one with Michelle Yeoh (Tomorrow Never Dies), in the helicopter scene - where the pilot tilts the chopper to tear up the market with its blades-that just pissed me right off. And then the driving around in the ice building in Die Another Day - arrrgghhhh. Actually, the whole movie was arrrrggghhhh-inducing except for Halle in that swimsuit.

Almost forgot: I haven't seen the original Casino Royale in years, but I thought it was kinda funny. I mean c'mon, everybody is named James Bond, and Woody Allen is the bad guy?

They have switched actors/actresses for all the main characters around for ages in that series (altough M & Moneypenny were pretty stable in the early days). Q is practically the only one that was played by the same actor from the moment he was introduced into the series.

\o/ Bond! This one looks pretty good, I like the dark aspects of the trailer and I hope there's plenty of it in the film. Gives it kind of a film noir look.

To be honest, that's true of pretty much all the films after From Russia With Love. They just took Fleming's title and character and made the rest of it up.
Yes, Ian Fleming DID write a book called The Spy Who Loved Me. Yes it DID have a guy called James Bond in it...
There any similarity ends.
There's no submarine car that fires rockets, no supertanker that eats nuclear subs, no Atlantis, no Stromberg, no Jaws....In fact the whole book is written from the point of view of a woman and James Bond is a secondary character.

Same goes for every film they made using the original books until they ran out and made License To Kill. They just took the titles and the rest is pretty much from the imagination of Cubby Brocelli.

Pierce Brosnan is gone. Sounds good to me. I loved Sean Connery as the original though. I love in Goldfinger when he slaps the girl on the ass and says, "Run along now dear; Man talk." That is the epitome of the womanizing, original bond we all know and love.
