They may be "empowered" but Bond still manages to sleep with them ... well most of them anyway.
It's definitely a little less obvious than it used to be, but it still is in there.

Absolutely (although I'm quite partial to The Spy Who Loved Me).

WORF, when you talk about David Arnold, are you refering to Shaken And Stirred - The James Bond Projects? Or has he done something else that i missed?

The Shaken and Stirred CD is awesome! Iggy Pop's cover of All The Time In The World is great, but The Propellerheads On Her Majesties Secret Service is the best treatment of a Bond track I have ever heard.
TBH, everything on the CD is great, I don't think there's a weak track on it.

They're empowered in the same way as the recent Charlie's Angels movies.

Yeah, they can now kill people without the help of men, but they still exist soley for our oogling pleasure, and, when it comes down to it, usually end up as dasmels in distress anyways. Can't complain. ;)

I laugh at what passes off as female empowerment in pop culture. Whatever new word they have for prostitution works I guess.

Anyway, since this is a prequel I expect the music would surely be more oldskool. My only real concern is the whole raggity "first run" approach the movie seems to got going for it. It worked well with Batman Begins...but I dunno about Bond. But I admit, I know just about nothing concerning Casino Royale the story.

That's why I addressed it in relative terms of "more" and "less". And Proph, by "empowered" I was thinking more about Michelle Yeoh ninja-stomping bad guys as opposed to Holly Goodnight activating lasers accidentally with her butt.
I'd say you missed the soundtracks to every Brosnan 007 film except Goldeneye:

    Soundtrackography

    He's also doing Casino Royale.

I will have to look into that. OHMSS was on the Propellerheads album that also featured Spybreak (Matrix lobby tune), and that "Take California" tune featured in the old iPod commercials, so I'm familiar with that one. Great tune. One of the Propellerheads dudes also did some collab with Arnold on the music for the scene in TND with the car chase through the parking garage where Bond is driving from the back seat with his cell phone.
