UE2 - UT2kX Bulldog Replacer Mutator/Vehicle.

    So, anyone tried it playing a normal ONS/VCTF match without 13 additional mutators running to see how it plays?

    I'm trying to get something balanced, but still mostly true to the original bulldog. It'd be totally wasted to have it just a one person vehicle, but at the same time probably overpowered to have homing rockets and a side turret.

    Perhaps a basic gun for the driver, say the dumbfire toapat suggested and a redeemer sort of guided missile for the passenger. Make the range short so it cant zoom round the whole map. Guided missiles and a side turret wouldnt be too overpowered though, i'd say a hellbender with 3 skilled people could decimate the bulldog, although against infantry it would be tough. How about lowering the re-fire rate on the driver weapon?

    you just said give it an infinate ammo redeamer and a side gat? my idea was more ballenced

    i can figure out ballencing better then actual gameplay (m a bit rusty, so bots on the lowest dificulty still kill me)

    The challenge is to make something true to the original, while making something that'll be balanced and not too overpowered compared to the other UT2004 vehicles.

    The reason for changing the main turret to a passenger weapon is to make it more a cooperative vehicle, so one player on a team can't just drive off and go on a complete rampage, without first taking a copilot, it also means on the other hand the enemy gets to take out two people, making a bonus if they do manage to kill the vehicle.

    Now got pretty much everything working, the light textures that eluded me before are now working - so it now has working headlights, and tail, brake and reverse lights too. Bots are slightly more intelligent in using it, but I need to figure a way to get then to switch from the 1st to the 2nd seat if there is only one driving.

    ya, i realize that tomorrow never came, i have been beating a PS2 controller against my wall because the right analog stick is slightly off and i want to play NFS most wanted with it

    Unfortunately, I won't be able to test it completely. Audio is not working on my computer anymore. It's something about an error with AVRT.dll. Also, whenever I get a new version of your vehicle, I delete the old files first and replace them with the new ones. Unfortunately, version 13 doesn't appear in the game.

    Wow, really? Did you delete out the static mesh packages etc?

    Everything should be packaged in the .U file.

    Could you do me a favour an PM me a the .log when you try and launch the mutator?

    I think there is an issue with loading it with the BP versions of existing maps (IE Torlan ) where the mutator to insert the BP vehicles interferes with the Bulldog Replacer/Area mutator.

    It's near enough done, short tweaks for the turret, bot AI for the gunner and weapon.

    If anyone does have time, UT2004 and some patience, some help on the coding front would be much appreciated. :)

    Thanks Lopar. That made me remember the what the other issue was- I was trying to package everything into a single .u file, that was the other reason I need to attract the attention of a friendly neighbourhood coder, right now it's broken without all the files, which makes it double the size as the assets are packed into the .u, but somehow something is still referencing the separate assets.

    Hmmm - is there anyone still coding for UT2004 who'd be interested in getting involved do you reckon?

    What kind of coding help do you need? I see a lot of requests for coding help but no clear indication of what you actually need a coder to do.
