I know there are currently(!) no bots in the game, but why shouldn't we expect other improvements in either patch or DLC-form ?

Hence my questions (and reasons for asking them). :p

I mean ... come on, isn't it about time that bots evolved beyond playing target for humans ?

Translation: I have no friends to play online with.

Or

I'm too poor so I torrent all my games.

JaFo's a misanthrope. Playing online gives him nightmares.

Placing bets on how long it will take before t2a cancels this preorder :)
:p

I have no expectations for this game so if it's decent then I'll be fine. I had expectations for MW2 -- basically, CoD4 but better -- and to hear that wouldn't be the case...

If MW2 somehow still proves to be worth buying I'll buy it. But worthwhile multiplayer is a big part of that given what's likely to be a six-hour single-player campaign.

I dunno, lack of bot support is always a turn off for me. I like to play offline every so often for ****s and giggles, and always before hitting the online arena, so I know what's what. I also tend to play private games with friends a lot; and a couple of bots can easily make up the numbers.

It's a co-op game. The online game is exactly the same as the single player except there are up to 3 other players.

all of these reviews pouring in don't really help...

but seeing as to how about half of my friends are going to have this game on their consoles by tomorrow night, I'll just go ahead and play it then and decide for myself. I've got like another week until the PC version ships so hopefully my mind will be made up by then.

I prefer my singleplayer experiences to be solo; I get absolutely nothing out of cooperative games save a singleplayer experience with no real immersion; the exception being maybe FreeLancer; but that's only cooperative providing the other players on the server are actually cooperating with you, rather than doing whatever else they want to do.

I also don't like coop games on the basis of the flawed death versus progression systems; either you can jump in and out at any time, or you can die and sit and wait for ages your buddy to either reach the next spawn point or die, or you can simply respawn on death. None of that really works for me, it's not a comfortable mechanic. I either get bored of waiting for stuff to happen, or I get tired of not feeling like I've actually progressed.

Exception to the rule: Lego Star Wars; but that's a fairly different kettle of fish.

I think he's just saying that he enjoys singleplayer games.
period.

it's not about there being some "better" version of coop.
maybe I'm wrong. but it sounds like he is arguing for the immersion afforded by the singeplayer experience compared to that of multiplayer which, by nature, breaks the illusion of immersion.
