Is bio primary too weak in 2k4?

Honestly I wouldn't give a crap if torches burned underwater. I don't care if the girls are naked or not or whether they have physics-enabled breasts. I don't care how the movement system is put together and I don't care if the shock rifle is too big and too alien-like. I don't give a crap how they make the game as long as it's fun and has a competitive edge to it. What I'm more worried about is how it's going to compare in terms of playability to Q4. If UT2007 is going to end up being nothing but glorified vehicle combat I'm moving to Q4.

Besides, you can shoot a lightning gun underwater and not kill yourself. How's that for logical? I guess all the water in UT2003/4 is distilled so it won't conduct electrical charge.

So you don't care if Gorge was naked with physics enabled man boobies running around at 60 kph while carrying a huge ass gun?

That last part just proves my statement that the new weapons need more logical consideration. And if you don't give a damn then why do you bother posting in threads that don't concern your views? What, just to flame people on their opinions? Grow the hell up.

It'll be part of the cannister weapon, though i think everyone would rather have it by itself.

yeah i am very disappointed its being combined into the cannister weapon. but at least it has not been taken out of the game...

over time, the Bio became my fave weapon in ut99 and i kind of carried that over into ut200x... it no longer was the surprise weapon it used to be in old UT but its still the most fun to frag enemies with in many of the ways already mentioned.

would love to see it make the transition as the BioRifle, and not the Cannistergun, but that doesnt look like its gonna happen.

I think it would be so cool if bio stuck on characters for a couple seconds and it wasn't instant damage, but it would stick on people and evaporate for one second and do a certain rate of damage for the duration it stuck and evaporated off the character. Bio shouldn't do instantaneous damage, because it's toxic sludge. I think this might make the bio more fun to use. It already is an effective weapon. It just needs to feel more powerful and clunky. :)

and I like the canister gun idea. The whole thing about the bio sticking inside of the gun isn't a problem, because the bio sludge that has a strong enough cohesion to stick together in a large glob of sludge when moving at such a high velocity doesn't stick to the side of the chamber, because it's cohesion overcomes adhesion to the chamber surface. Plus the chamber could be electromagnetically charged so the sludge never even touches the surface of the chamber. As a matter of fact the bio glob's high velocity is a result of electromagnetic propulsion occuring from the canister gun chamber.

:) yay :y5:

I think they should just get rid of it. It's a dumb weapon. Too powerful? Too weak? Too who gives a crap is more like it.

Im sorry are you stupid? why would you want to get rid of anything? Its not too powerful and not very weak its fine as it is even if you don't like it.

It slows the game down.

Secondary is overpowered and it is the most defensive weapon in the game, imo.

Bio could be a real cool weapon, but the sounds and general feel of it sucks and is really not needed in ut2k4, imo. They really need to make bio more special in the next ut. Right now, it's just annoying, just like everything else that is going to be in the canister gun.

Spidermines, bio, and grenades are fun for being a lam0r or doing crazy trickjumps though. :)

Im sure they'll use tephlon (sp?) on the barrel of the gun to keep the goo from sticking...

and as it stands now, if they make the gun anything like they did in UC2, the bio will be "alive" ... so i think it kinda balances out a bit... for those who have played UC2 know what im talking about.

A neat trick w/ it is to shoot it at a wall behind your opponant and watching it jump off and hit em...

the full charge still kills them in 1 hit, but im sure due to the now moving bio goo, the damage is a bit less... i think its a good balance... and i also like the can-gun idea.

i personally enjoy the bio riffle... its more of a last resort/goof off weapon more than anything to me... tho i'd like to get better w/ it, and ill probably try the instant action>area idea.

When i heard about the cannister gun at first I was a little worried, but now that i know they are including the bio rifle its all shiggidy. Personally i use the thing to scare people. If i have the gun i charge it up fully and then unleash it at the enemy, hoping to scare them enough to jar their aim and such.

If this idea appears in the next UT opus, i will run for sure to the one who shot at me so he can explode with its own goo too =D

I can the Cannister Gun turning into what the grenade launcher was in Unreal 2. Just a weapon that switches between nades (bio goo, sticky nades, etc) and only has a primary fire with secondary doing the switching. So I'm afraid there wouldn't be any charging of slime. But then there wouldn't be any detonation of sticky nades, which would suck.

Have to wait and see.

well, you could still charge the slime, it only means that you cant hold down and keep firing....... as for not detonating the nades, it cuts spam and keeps for planting nades at unmarked nodes, i see the reasoning there

I'm betting that everything functions as normal, with the only diference being that you have to hit the 3 key multiple times in order to choose what ammo you want. That would make the most sence if you ask me.

I will admit that it is fun when you actually do kill someone, it's just near impossible to kill a good player with it, unless your an even better player. Bots are the exception of course, to predictable. Again, I hope they add cooler effects in UT2007. Like a more radioactive glow, and cooler death animation :).

>Yeah, it is fun when you killl someone with it, i also killed a guy with a full charge of goo and it just seemed cooler killing with that gun. Spaming behind you when you need a getaway is also a useful tactic that is nice to have, at the same time using it on a doorway that an enemy is trying to escape through is a good tactic too.

I got a double kill with it earlier. there were 3 bots standing around shooting one another. I threw a whole 10 units worth at one of them, and it took two of the three out :). It was hella fun :p.
