I don't know if I said this before, but even without the bugs I didn't enjoy the gameplay in the beta. Seems like they've fallen a long way since BF2.

You did, but the beta barely has anything in common with the final product. Metro was a stupid, boring map that didn't do anything for the series. I've played on at least a half dozen maps that are bigger, more interesting and better suited to what BF should be. Metro was like BC2.5, and while it's still int he game for people that want that, the more interesting maps are the ones that use tanks, apcs, helis and jets in large (sometimes cluttered city areas, sometimes vast, open areas with village clusters) to varying degrees, and those are the ones I've been playing.

meh, still can't go online, and the single player campaign though good graphics, is geared for the console. "Night Shift" hung me up as there's this stupid car you have to shoot in a half a second after the game lets loose of the player's animation, then I spawned behind a locked door in a stairwell, pretty much ending any reason to continue... EA's and Origin's help is just a bunch of FAQ's, emailed EA, guess I'll wait for MW3 now :p

I watched a "first impression" of this game on Total Biscuits youtube channel. My god the single player is more scripted than a CoD game. Tacked on would be an understatement. The whole segment of him riding in a jet and doing nothing but pressing a button to release flares was just god awful.

Wait, people actually do buy BF3 even though that game is known to step on customers' rights and to be bug-ridden beyond all hopes? You, Sir, are full of fail for trying anyway.

It was likely low enough to be balanced by all the fools buying the game.

Do people really expect much from the single player though? Battlefield always has been and always will be a multiplayer game. For what it was, I thought the single player was very much worth a play-through. They could've just thrown bots in the multiplayer maps and called it "single player" but the fact that they gave us a real campaign was pretty nice IMO.

Fine, I'll stop being a pessimist about Origin's activities. I guess it could be an advantage that EA still might have some of your data in case your hdd crashed or something...

What does it matter what data they have, we're all gonna die soon anyway.

I just played operation metro for the first time. What a blast! I ended up getting banned from the server though. No idea why. Must've killed the admin.

Enjoying it so far, I think on PC having to use Firefox to look for servers sucks but that's because my PC is a little slow these days so takes just that little bit longer to load and I've had a couple of crashes when loading too.

Gameplay is pretty good and I've been impressed by the number of points and ribbons that can be achieved without killing anyone.

Since I always have 12 tabs of things I keep meaning to read in FF (and it reopens all after I close it) I just bookmarked the battlelog page in chrome to avoid any issues. Works fine.

Razor1911 released an Origin bypass for those who want to play the game without Origin. You launch BF3 and it takes you straight to Battlelog. Meaning, it's not free reign for pirates because you still need to have a registered copy of BF3 on your EA account to get to Battlelog.

It works fine but people are obviously weary of it because it wouldn't be surprising if EA will start banning out everyone for it, assuming they can even tell.
