"hate balance"... well, f*ck... what have we 'balanced' this time again that you folks don't like... still no answer to that question.
and don't say the AT4... cause it is obviously not the real thing and never was supposed to be...

eh, not only can i not see any problem with the game balance, but i also like balance. As long as its a bit more creative than unrealistically lowering the damage of one gun to balance with another, i'm fine with it :)

I've played alot of games that have vehicles and weapons that are unbalanced, and they always end up the same way: everyone uses that vehicle/weapon. I dont want that.

I'm not sure what people are claiming you 'balanced' this time around, but in the past, I'd have to say:

1) SOCOM
2) M249 SAW
3) The way the 'bulk' system is in general

And to be honest, I forgot if there were any other ones because I just don't care anymore. ;)

I think everybody is just kinda miffed about the sounds.

The only 'problem' I have with the pack is the G36 red dot being misalligned. Sounds are a little 'meh' on some weapons, and I think you guys should've probably posted a 'call for help' for a sound designer instead of using old sounds...but, it's your call.

The 'balance' thing that we oh-so-depise is when you change things for the sake of the game, instead of keeping it as it would be in real life.

Basically, INF is in a paradox Beppo. Half of the people want a sim. The other half just want a FPS that is 'slightly more complex than your average FPS'. And to be frank, none of us really know where it's heading right now.

One of these days, you're going to have to state your official stance on that matter. ;)

Personally, INF changed my life and how I viewed 'games'. It was the reason I bought another PC and the only computer game I've enjoyed in a long time.

It had such an impact on me because of the 'realism', not because of the 'gameplay'. The 'realism' was the 'gameplay' for me. However, some of us want it to be more realistic and get upset when things are 'balanced for gameplay'.

We're all as confused as you are.

If you don't like a demanding / critial audience of fans, then make INF the ultimate arcade game. We'll all leave.

And just cause Demo dropped it in a reply without any further comment on what he means doesn't count.

Except, this is not the only place that this has been brought up, and some of these people I've talked to via AIM or in game. Therefor, it counts:p

Three bulk for the G3A3 magazine is the most recent offense. Yes, the bullets are larger heavier, but that is why the magazine comes in a compact 20 round size.

Three bulk for the G3A3 magazine is the most recent offense.

I already argued that one silly. Pick your own!

The G3 mags aren't heavy and they aren't that hard to hold (I actually prefer them to STANAG mags).

However, the problem is that, a long time ago, in an INF made years ago, Beppo decided to make the G3 mag for the PSG 3 bulk so that people couldn't 'camp'. Because everybody knows, snipers are supposed to be on the move (that's sarcasm for you people that complain when one person is a sniper...ever...).

Either that, or maybe, with the way the game was set up at the time, it was too easy for all of the idiots that play to be 'teh snipah'...so it was required to make it 'balanced'.

The problem is in the past Marty...

Well, I'll just hop in my Dellorian and fix it. If they were really that desperate to ballance
the PSG-1, they should have given it the more common 5 round magazine that doesn't
hamper weapon movement as much.

as said before... write your own little bulk mutator... it is very easy due to the INF_LoadoutMutator that was brought to you with 2.9... just a few lines of code and you can change any bulk you want...

so stop complaining about a thing that was decided ten months ago...
if it really is soooo off, then you had ten months to fix it with a little mutator yourself.

You should have ignored that one, mate. Increasing bulk does nothing against evil camping, now does it? If anything, it stops fast movement.

To the firing sounds, there is definitely one new sound, and that is the G36K firing sound. I actually modified this sound to be used as the M4 sound and that's why it sounds similar to the G3. Personally, I think this particular sound sounds better than the old assault rifle fire. So, even though the INFMOD pack was released earlier, the Bonus pack had it first. It is their sound. (I will change the M4 sound to sound more like the G36 later.)
The MP5K sounds like the MP5/40, no surprise there.
For the 1911, if it hasn't been changed since it was last in my hands, then it's using a bassed version of the M92f. I don't know how it really sounds like, but if you want a movie reference, the best example I can think of is Saving Private Ryan, where Capt. Miller sits against a motorcycle after being shot and defeatedly fires off a few rounds at an approaching tank. It didn't sound so uber if you ask me. It definitely didn't sound like the SOCOM.

I'm not a stickler to keeping things static, but I do give things a grace period. I also think that wanting to change something after mere days is insulting. Would it kill to be just a little appreciative? Really, give it some time, you might end up feeling differently.

actually snipers are supposed to be on the move

After they fire maybe, or if there is a chance of being detected...

However, last time I checked, you lay low to the ground (if possible). camouflage yourself and try to move as little as possible as to not give your position away...

Then again, maybe I'm going about it all wrong?

I'm talking 'moving' like, 'walk, crouch, shoot, move'. Last time I checked, that's usually a bad idea (when you're not actively in combat). At least, that was the impression I had...

When I take a sniper loadout in INF, it's to provide safe passage for the 'CD guy'. My job is to stay hidden and remove hostiles that are reported to me by my spotter (and yes, I usually work with somebody else).

I once had a spot so glorious on RtK that it took the other team 15 minutes or so to find me. That was with 'ghost cam' on by the way...

:hmm:

at least in the german army a sniper is trained to have at least three alternative positions he can move to once he shot. he does not shot more then once from the same possition, even if they don't expect they might have been detected.

I usually try to move after a shot, maybe two if one right after the other. Thats what I meant. When sniping I am tryint to cover the guys moving up and provide info. Once they get into a positions I can no longer do that I will move so that I can.
