On Monday anti-war radical Cindy Sheehan is set to speak at the University of Connecticut and on Wednesday right-wing bomb thrower Ann Coulter will appear on campus. This has set off much freedom of speech debate. The Factor wondered why so many would protest Coulter's appearance but not Sheehan's. "Both are very high profile women, both are very provocative women. Why would Sheehan not raise any ire and Coulter raise all kinds of ire?" Emily Salisbury, executive director of UCONN'S College Republicans, spoke to the need for a diversity of speakers on the campus. "One of the reasons we chose Ann Coulter is that she has such name recognition that she's going to draw in academic students who might not otherwise attend a political lecture on campus and therefore it will promote intellectual debate on campus."

It's her know it all attitude that annoys me, I dunno about you guys, but I think she's more annoying than most right wingers these days. She's kind of like the right's version of Hilary Clinton, who I found equally annoying when she got heavy press when Clinton was president.

I still like William F. Buckley and some of the more astute, above the fray intellectuals, but these trendy know it all mudslinger types are kind of annoying. I can only take so much of the... "I'm right, you're wrong mentality". Deal in facts and truth people!

That's the difference between Cindy Sheehan and Ann Coulter. Cindy is coming from the heart with sincerity on one SPECIFIC issue. Ann Coulter is a blustering buffoon in general. I can see clearly the difference between the two. They dont even compare in style and attitude.

The point is the left liberal kids out did thier own protesting, therefor not allowing the rest of the crowd to have a civil event.

On the other side, the looney mother (her son volunteered) also spoke, but a bunch of right wingers allowed her to speak, the left is in the way of free speech and also ripping the rights away from the other people there and Ann.

Liberal brainwashed fools, can't even let her do what she was invited to go there for.

I think she's hell bent on the wrong track, first her son whanted to be in the army or whatever, she getting a divorce because he was proud of what his son told him he whanted to do , but she don't think that.

I hear the sisster or brother also disagree with her, she also got the backing of that moore guy and that "pink" org ,also protesting and had to go see her mother you is or as sick durring in front of bushes house.
She got arrested in wash dc with a load top count of 30 people who went on the big convoy to DC.

She might not be radical, but she was in the news enough to be known as anti bush, and she aint going to win no matter how much monet or things that happen.

You know this whole "liberals hate America" is getting as stale as "lets blame everything on Bush". At the end of the day we're all stuck with this society...and really, everyone should be a balance of both Right Wing and Left Wing traits. Just one or the other is bullshiit.

I just don't get why Ring wingers wig out over people like Sheehan. It's obvious to any intelligent person that her opinions about the presidency are only inflated by the loss of her son. If he came home with the Medal of Honor I doubt she'd be be protesting. She'd be at home with her friends telling them all about her hero son.

Now I wouldn't say she is on the wrong track, any true American should be ready to disagree with their government. I just have issues with her motivation, and that prevents me from caring.

If you want me to point out examples of how people infringe on each other's free speak...from either side of the political spectrum, I will.
