Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.
The directory that UT2k4 installs to by default is only writable by Administrators and the user who installed the game (who may not necessarily be an Administrator), so if you run the game under a non-Administrator account other than the user who installed the game, the game will not be able to write settings back to its files, and strange things like what you are experiencing may happen. To fix this problem, give all users the ability to write to the UT2k4 directory:
Go to My Computer --> Tools --> Folder Options --> View
Under Advanced Settings, uncheck "Use simple file sharing" if it's still checked, click OK
Find your UT2004 folder, Right-click --> Properties --> Security
Click Users, then under "Permissions for Users", check "Full Control" under the "Allow" column, click OK.
Now all users (except guests) will be able to write to files in the UT2k4 directory, and settings should save just fine.
Well that's all well and good, except I only have one account on XP, and it's an administrator account. Plus, there is no "Advanced Settings" or "Use simple file sharing" there. Might be because of XP Home, or it might be the one account system.
