3dfx Problems

  • Two Factor Authentication is now available on BeyondUnreal Forums. To configure it, visit your Profile and look for the "Two Step Verification" option on the left side. We can send codes via email (may be slower) or you can set up any TOTP Authenticator app on your phone (Authy, Google Authenticator, etc) to deliver codes. It is highly recommended that you configure this to keep your account safe.

ok...just a tad more complex then...
1)Locate the folder you extracted the drivers to...write down where you put the drivers into.
2)Right Click "My Computer" and choose properties.
3)click the device manager tab.
4) click either the "+" sign for display adapter or sound, video and game controllers (i forgot where the Voodoo2 will be listed, its been awhile since I had my Creative 12mb Voodoo2:)).
5)Highlight voodoo2 or whatever card it is and choose properties.
6)click the driver tab and click update driver.
7)point it to the folder location you wrote down or where you put the drivers.
8) It should find a .INF file in that folder, highlight it and choose ok to load that driver....follow instructions and reboot.

Good Luck

Spidey,
When did you start having the Glide problem? Did UT always work before?

The only thing I can think of is that something you installed recently into the UT folder has given you this problem.
Maybe a UMOD or a new map you downloaded corrupted something in your UT folder.

What I would do,is try an Uninstall/reinstall of UT without any custom mods or maps and see if that works for you...then you can reinstall the other stuff (umods and maps, etc),and see which gave you the problem.

P.S. are you running the latest 3dfx drivers from http://www.3dfx.com?

here is a direct link to the latest Voodoo2 drivers for windows 9x...If your running older drivers.

I would still try the Uninstall/Reinstall of UT,since nothing else is working.
Also if you have the original Unreal installed...uninstall it too.
The reinstall the original Unreal first...followed by UT.There was an issue awhile ago about UT using the old Unreal engine when the original Unreal was installed after UT.

hope this helps...cause Im fresh out of Ideas for now...I just got up a little while ago :)

So your using '98,
well then it should work like like GhostGeek][ describes..
If you were using 2000 then you had a problem (not that you dont have a problem now..) 'cause 2000 hasn't got a driver for VoodooII.
They start from VoodooIII..

Good luck m8...I wish i could help ya out..
