Darkmatches were fun, I really liked that one map with the fog volume near that one pipe. I thought it was the most realistic looking fog I'd ever seen in a video game.
CTF-LavaGiant][ had BSP holes apparently and never made it into UT2004 despite being in the UT2003 Bonus Pack.
One of the fixes listed isI'd so love to see DarkMatch come back, but I highly doubt it.
One of the fixes listed is
- Added slight player glow support for darkmatch (maps with DARKMATCH at start of worldinfo name
You could interpret that as maps with not a lot of light, rather than a gametype where there are no lights.
True. But would a map with not a lot of light on it have the word DARKMATCH at start of worldinfo name? You could interpret that as maps with not a lot of light, rather than a gametype where there are no lights.
From what I remember, that one had problems due to it being one of the first maps built to test the new engine tech (along with DM-Gestalt and that other outdoor platform BR/CTF map). All of them were intended for UT2003. LG][ had an issue with the skybox due to UT2003 -> UT2004 engine changes and was just never fixed. There's more to that story, but I don't recall all of the details.
As far as I know this Titan Pack is not for free, isn't it? While I surf some other boards I found out that this will definitely with costs (no problem for me).
Commenting on the latest gargantuan upcoming UT3 patch, Steve Polge reveals that the next step for UT3 is to release the Titan Pack, "which is substantially bigger than any bonus pack we've released in the past."
That's saying a lot, considering the contents of some of their previous bonus packs.
Did anyone else notice that "Throw Weapons" is being brought back?
