Every "hot" girl I've ever meet at a comic convention has been off her rocker. They seem cute at first, but after a 5 minute conversation you realize they're one of those super clingy lets have sex then I'll cry for hours on end saying "how come your the only person who sees me for who I am", when all you can think about is how badly you need a time machine right now.

Just go to the bar if you want to get laid. There the women know that it's only sex, not some screwed up therapy session.

Costume play. This refers to fans who dress up as fictional characters at conventions.
While people tend towards anime, videogames, movies and tv shows (Joss Whedon shows spring immediately to mind) and american comic books all count for cosplay. It's generally associated with cons vs regular costume parties, but whatever.

I don't really care for cosplay. The idea of getting a real girl dressed up like a cartoon character so I can pretend that the real girl is actually the cartoon character is real and that I could have sex with it if I wasn't a disgusting fatard with bad hygiene is too far removed from my reality I guess. I would rather the girl just dress well and look hot. These are things you get over when you have banged a real girl.

Normally I would agree with you... I have some friends into cosplay. They are always trying to get me to do photo shoots of them dressed up in costumes they made. While done very well.. and they do look very hot in them..I'm just not into it.. even for a photoshoot.

There is an exception and that is when the costume and the model are outstanding. When this is the case you end up with hollywood quality costumes on a big budget film. Even that can look good.

Cosplay can be sexy :)

I feel like I'm in the minority in that I like Anime, but I am not into cosplay or all this weird bs 99% of them seem to be into like pairing characters, yaoi and yuri (if you don't know what that is, you don't want to.) Some animes are really good for what they are, they have mature storylines and compared to American cartoons they are immensely more enjoyable to watch. I enjoy the characters and the story the author creates for them. Adding fanfic is ok but unnecessary nor would I read it.. pairings crosses the line.. and yaoi / yuri basically reeks of pathetic desperation. Cosplay can be innocent and fun but gets pathetic quickly. Basically to care enough to do it in the first place you are generally gonna be a person who is involved in "otaku" crap, so I'd rather steer clear.

There's nothing wrong with watching anime. I'm thoroughly convinced Cowboy Bebop is the best TV show ever produced. Its when you become an "otaku" or whatever the hell people that don't bathe and watch tentacle porn are called you have a problem.

It's like anything. It's unhealthy if you get into a hobby so much that you lose touch with reality.
Nothing wrong with tentacle porn. I do shower regularly so that's OK.
:D
Also Cowboy bebop is one of my favs but I do prefer the Eva series.

Eva is terrible and has the worst ending in the history of anything.
