Yep, GoW went better than UT3, just the trailer with Gary Jule - Mad world had a bunch of money waster screaming "OMG me wants!" and since Microsoft was the publisher...
Yeah the marketing was way better but there is also the fact that it is a more accessible game as far as the console crowd is concerned, which is where the sales are. It offered a cool singleplayer game and some fun multiplayer while UT3 just offered multiplayer/bot-match. The promise of GoW seems more appealing to the console crowd than the promise of UT3.
UT3 is the fastest console port ever made to PC,
Heh, that's because only one game was developed. Nothing was ported anywhere. As far as development is concerned, UT3 (or UE3 I should say) is basically platform agnostic. Besides a few code differences to get things up and running on specific platforms, the cooking process is basically what determines on which platform the DVD you just made will work.
...you should look up before saying UT3 didn't sold well on any platform,
According to the most recent data I could fine, UT3 sold roughly ~84,000 copies in the first month. PS3 did a little better in it's first month, with roughly ~113,000 copies sold, but nothing spectacular. I'm sure it's still selling, but if video game sales trends affect UT3 as they do for nearly every other game there has ever been, sales trickle down fast after the first month's spike.

There was a lot of holiday season competition for UT3 though, which never helps, and while that's one reason for it's lackluster performance, it's not the only.
...it's probably one of (if not) the best game for the PS3.
Heh, I wouldn't know. I don't own a PS3. The only thing I've played on the PS3 is BiA:HH.
