Italy v Turkey = 0-0 (very boring game)
Denmark v France = 0-3 (Henry, Anelka, Zidane...Schmichal is still in goal though...)
Holland v Czech Rep. = 1-0 (tough game to call, Kluivert to score and Nedved to hit a post)

I'm putting V£10 on the rrsult (not score) of each game!!

Yeah sure Flic, Turkey-Italy really sucked... Hell no! Great game! Allthough Italy won on a very stupid penalty shot...

Whats important for us(Sweden)when we meet these two teams is that we can get our defense to work the way it should. Cuz when it works, it really works. You know how many goals we gota against in the qualifying rounds? 1! i think all englishmen here can imply that Swedens defense is really good.

One more thing should increase our chanses. the fact that we at our best when no-one believes that we´re gonna win. Pressure was high last night and well, maybe that affected the outcome of the game.

Denmark-France are at the end of their game right now and the score is 0-2. No shock. really crappy group BTW. At least one team of high class aren´t gonna make it to the quarters.

Now i´m looking forward to Holland-Chzech Rep. That should be a great game.

Its now Sunday night, time to reflect on a triple dose of Euro-action!

Italy v Turkey: I originally said the game would suck and be a goal-less bore. **** I was wrong (V£10 lost there) The game was action packed from the whistle. Inzaghi has proved that he is the Italian version of Andy Cole, but worse. In the end, the Italians should have scored at five (not including the dodgy penalty).

France v Denmark: My prediction of a 3-0 win to the French was spot-on (although only Henry scored from my lot). Cracking game and the French have shown us that they are a force to be reckoned with (the Arsenal lads also played well - Anelka missed a sitter, but he's a reject )

Holland v Czech Republic: Again my 1-0 prediction was spot-on . The first half was forgetable, although the mighty Bergkamp had a couple of reasonable chances. The second half was completely different with the Czech dominating it. The highlights there were the shots of Jaap Stam getting stiches applied to his eye (the Dutch producer must be a twisted dude), Nedved hitting the post (again, another Inflictor amazing predction ), Poborsky missing a sitter, the mighty Overmars setting up a dubious penalty.

In the end, the Czechs were really unlucky, and should have bagged the 3 points.

So, I'm breaking even over the opening two days. The French have shown they're definately the favourites to win at this time. The Italians look okay, but only outsiders. The Dutch were pants and need to work better to fulfil their promise. The Czechs have a hill to climb which is unlucky.

Bring on the England match...one all I think. The Romanians to beat Germany 2-0. Again, V£10 on both results

i do believe it was Ronald de Boer who managed to set up the penalty. Overmars was basically just running laps.

I take it that Yugoslavia drew 3-3 and Spain lost (I last saw a flukey headed goal) before a curry night and a Nightclub took over.

Its the Belgium v Italy match tonight. Dunno whats going to happen, I'm too distraught with football to give an "accurate" prediction.

Errm. 2-0 to the Italians and they're certain of qualification to the next round. I haven't seen the goals, but Fiore's was pretty special apparently.

Tomorrow we have Turkey v Sweden. My hopes are with Sweden and a 1-2 victory on the cards - they have a lot to prove after their last performance. Larsson will start hopefully and bag a goal with the main man Freddie "Crazy Hair" Ljungberg to be a dynamo in midfield.

Good news for fellow countrymen and Anglophiles: Herr Bierhoff has a pulled calf muscle and will be out for the rest of the qualifying matches (according to Skysports: http://www.sky.com/sports/home/).

I didn't watch the game today (I was house hunting) but the commentary on Radio5 suggested that the game was forgettable.

Tomorrow, we have the Group D games:

Czech Rep. v France - should be a cracking game, but the French will be too strong and are bound to win by a couple of goals

Holland v Denmark - hopefully, this should kick-start the Dutch and make them play their modern version of Total Football. 2-0 victory to the men in orange.

L_S: The US knows as much about Euro football culture as Europe knows about US gun culture. In other words, Euros think Americans go round shooting each other all day, and Americans think Euro football fans cause havoc after every match. Both statements are obviously complete bollocks. Anyway, I think that in today's matches, France will beat the Czechs and Holland will piss all over Denmark.
